Does Redguard need a rework?

I think it does. It doesn’t fit the hybrid meta and its stamina stats are niche. So it doesn’t fit in the play the way you want. My ideas:

1. Cover way more crowd control techniques in some way not just snare and immobilize. Its current is too niche. Get rid of weapon reduction (or don’t). It’s also niche because it focuses only on weapons. And not a reason people would choose Redguard.
2. Add some sort of magicka stat.
3. Edit* Keep the damage proc condition, but add 65 stamina recovery. It only needs a little recovery unlike Breton because Redguard has the damage proc which is good for stamina because of core combat skills being stamina based. (Changed from 129 to 65 because Breton is 130).

These are small changes that will not obviously throw things off balance. I’m not asking for meta, just smoother play because other races have that. Those are just my ideas. But what would you all change?

Yeah, I think the Redguard could use a rework too. The Martial Training passive is underwhelming these days because most builds, at least in PvE, hardly use any weapon abilities now that Scribing and Subclassing are a thing. I think a 7% cost reduction of Stamina abilities, mimicking the Breton's passive, would be better than just weapon abilities.

Since Redguards are supposedly the most naturally talented warriors in all of Tamriel according to the lore, I'd personally also like it if they had a new passive that "Increases the effectiveness of your Weapon Traits by 50%". It would be fitting if they'd know how to wield their weapons better than other races.

Definitely. Redguard was the meta stamina race when stamina vs. magicka meant something. Since redoing the racial passives and the advent of hybridization, plus sustain issues being removed from the game, Redguard passives are fairly useless. At this point, there is an argument that Bosmer is superior

I've always thought Redguards could get a small 1/2/3% increase to all weapon skills damage/heal/shield values. It's not nothing, anyways.
