Hearts event - receiving tickets when you're close to the cap even if you'll lose one/some?

I'm pretty sure I've previously been able to select the option to receive event tickets even if it meant losing one/some because I was already close to the cap.

I can't seem to do that now?

I have 11 tickets & keep getting told to spend some to be able to earn more.

I don't want to spend more because I want them converted to the trade bar system after update 49 & there's no items that cost just one ticket so even if I bought a repair kit for two & then earned two on the last day of the event I will just end up having the same amount.

Unfortunately this was changed quite a while ago, your best bet is to buy a group repair kit. They cost 2 tickets as you said.
You may as well buy one then just go kill a world/delve boss and get them back.
At least you will have a repair kit to show for it I guess.

Been a thing for a while now because people were losing out on tickets unintentionally.

Buy a companion commendation for 3 tickets and you'll be at cap when the event is over (assuming you're able to get both days of tickets). 11-3+2+2=12.

It seems to be when you get tickets for turning in a quest it'll let you accept a partial reward, when they're a random drop it just assumes you don't want to lose out and stops them

Thankfully that won't be a problem after this event - in case you hadn't heard, event tickets are being converted to trade bars in March, which will be uncapped

When I posted I mistakenly thought there was only one day left to get one ticket but was wrong.

So I bought a companion commendation & then got four tickets bringing me up to 12 tickets

Very glad the ticket system is ending.
