I can't understand why people feel so strongly about wanting capes, not against the addition if it was possible but this would have to be without glitching stances/movement and skill use (which are still not fully resolved for this years changes)

Wonderful. It's already been discussed the nature how fabric moves– both in this thread and the thread linked in here. You don't need me to convince you that your statements are inaccurate. You just need to read the discussion material and then actually respond to it.

You'll see that the nature of how fabric moves is limited and artificial. But it does move.

Then forgive me for not agreeing with you in a way you found satisfactory? You knew what what I was saying about the "movement" of cloth physics in the game and chose to be pedantic about it

No, I didn't know what you meant about movement, because it does not meet the discussion points. You used a costume that is not rigged with animation as your example of your expectations. I could only assume you never paid attention to the fabrics that are rigged with animation. I'm not supposed to know your unspoken personal interpretation of "movement" in your specific mental context.
I recognize the limitations present in the game. That is why we are discussing ways to work with the features and possibilities which already exist in game– within the boundaries of those limits.

What were you hoping we would get out of your comment that "fabric in this game doesn't move"?

People were told by the devs a decade ago that it wasn't possible and, instead of questioning it (on top of understanding that it has been a decade since), just ate it right up to the point of defending it. They've convinced some players that they straight up don't want capes in the game, however, yet again, the community chases away options/features from the game which make more people want to play it. There is nothing wrong having a "Cape" Cosmetic Slot. Some people have said that they have to have stats attached which would imbalance the game. No, they do not need to have stats - they can easily be made cosmetic. If you don't like them, don't use them. Also, I remember the comment that they don't want to see other people use them. Yikes! Talkin' about stepping on other players' ability to enjoy a video game.

The technology exists to add capes to the game. We have the talent to make it possible. ZOS could definitely sell more Premium Tomes with the addition of Seasons if they added some cool capes to the list of cosmetics available. Unfortunately, it seems like the only thing that holds this back from being added from the game are the unironic "NO CAPES.jpg" meme posters among the community and the dev team. There are people that like them and don't like them. Since we know the technology reasoning given a decade ago is outdated (and fallacious tbh), there is no reason not to implement capes for the players who would pay cash to have them. Don't tell me "Runescape is different". Capes are cool in that game, too.
