Probably not the smartest idea to make the new holiday event like this... Where we ALL have to kill the same boss in the same delve... The event has barely started and the boss is just getting slaughtered in 2 seconds, with a huge crowd around them. Poor Ariana did not wake up today thinking this was going to happen to them lol I wish everyone coming on at peak time later tonight the best of luck!

    Or you know maybe make the respawn timer literal seconds instead of whole minutes of time. But yeah buff the HP pool too. You have a second or two to respond and tag the boss before it dies or *surprise* no credit for you! This is really unacceptable as is tbh but ZOS simply don't seem to care as it's far from the first time this has been an issue *shrug*.

    Yeah it's s a little ridiculous. Bad enough Craglorn is laggy as all hell right now with everyone piled in the zone, but to also make everyone go to the same delve... They could have easily made the quest "go to a random delve and kill the boss" and it still would have made sense for the story.

    I was just spamming AE to get a hit on her. First thing she seemed to do is teleport to someone else (lag?) so I missed her first spawn and had to wait again.

    Also Craglorn HAS instanced delves lmao, and they picked a regular one. It just often seems like events are designed by folks who don't actually play the game.

    More like poor us. Seriously, one DELVE boss for a new event's quest? I'm still waiting to have a chance to get a hit in. ZOS for the love of the gods, LEARN!

    What gets me in these situations every time are the players who try to hit with as much burst damage as possible instead of letting each person get a light attack in. Same thing on endeavor days to kill certain mobs.

    If people thought they needed to land the killing blow, you'd think they'd slot an execute and wait til the HP gets low instead of trying to what looks like let as few players get a hit in as possible.

    I thought this design lesson was learned many events ago?

    Rather than buff the HP (and make it hard for people who have to solo her later on), they could simply make it 'Kill a delve boss' and allow the player to choose the particular delve they want.

    We already know that the delve bosses have some indicator that they ARE delve bosses, so it shouldn't be *that* difficult to write the quest in such a way that it recognizes any delve boss you kill.

    I got extremely lucky and got her the first time around, but others in chat said it took them 45 minutes to get credit for it. I guess buffing her would help, but honestly, I would rather ZOS put a cap on how many are in a delve at a time and just spin up new instances for each delve as needed. Say a 10-person cap, but to do something like that would involve a lot of background work on ZOS’s part, I would think. Maybe it can be done for the next event.

    I agree with @JemadarofCaerSalis above. I thought about buffing the delve boss but that becomes too hard with small numbers (unless they did a dynamic buff based on number of players - probably too hard). I thought about just using one of the Craglorn group delves (which are solo instances) but those delves and associated bosses are a bit hard for newer players. Changing the quest to go kill any delve boss would be the best solution I think.

    Relax. With the new Overland Difficulty system, that will be solved. Players will take 800% more damage and deal 80% less damage. Ariana and all the others will stay strong as hell, since we will have one Ariana for each player.

    By the way, if anyone wants to test this new difficulty system, just try playing as a pure healer or a pure tank. Now imagine when we enable 800% more damage taken and 80% less damage dealt against Ariana! You’ll have all the time in the world to try to kill her — without success!

    That’s exactly what everyone is complaining about: that this sort of thing is happening since several years. We got very buffed bosses for Solstice camps which was totally necessary considering the crowds that were grinding the once-in-a-lifetime event. Obviously there were going to be crowds for this new event as well, but it wasn’t anticipated by ZOS this time. I didn’t even do those quests yet, but camping a boss for 45 minutes without getting a hit sounds rough, I guess I will pass for now.

    they added harder stuff for the worm cult thing, they could do the same for teh regular ones during events.
