Dibella was actually mentioned in crownstore packs for Heart's Day furnishings in the past. In general the holiday seems to be mostly Mara (with a little bit of darker Sanguine past) and a tiny bit of Dibella. It's quite confusing but imo more than fine. Makes sense if there's a little bit of overlap.

The first version of this event as seen on PTS was more or less a story about duality, and the Mara priest even gave a moral lesson on how "love and lust both belong to a fulfilled life" so participating in Sanguine stuff was healthy and good or something. Also: "Mara loves everyone!", including daedric princes, it seems... These dialogue parts were rewritten for the final version after criticism came up on the PTS forum (and I really, really appreciate the changes).
Also, the event originally didn't have Mara's parcels, but these:
Sanguine appreciating the spreading of love... Also led to criticism and was corrected before the event went live.
I'm glad people on the PTS watch out for these things, since what happens in ESO is being integrated into broader lore.
I mean Sanguine *was* associated with this holiday since as early as TES 2, so I see no reason not to mention that, though naturally Mara's parcels are more fitting rewards. And yes I am aware of the story of the event, just saying that just because the event story has some quests that are primarily Mara and Sanguine related doesn't mean there's no lore about Dibella's links to the celebrations either, even if its a small involvement.
What was lore breaking was a Mara priest being absolutely okay with him causing trouble at Mara's festival and even calling Sanguine's doings good and healthy. It was another trivialisation of a Daedric Prince; the "See, they're actually not that bad and let's just all be friends!" that I also disliked about the Sanguine quests on Solstice.
In the quest we are told that Sanguine can distort / pervert feelings of love in such a way that can result in violent death.
I have no idea if choosing the "evil" option in the quest results in death, since for me the quest was bugged and the NPCs in question did not move when I was told to look at them and "enjoy the show" by the cultist.

Where does that line come up? I didn't see it on the character I played today, but maybe that's because he refused to participate in all Sanguine shenanigans immediately (no frog, no blood, no cursed instruments)? He basically directly went to the Mara priest to tell him about something potentially dangerous going on, and the priest's only reply was that I should decide for my own whether to participate in that woman's games or not, and that I shouldn't worry, since even if a Sanguine cultist shows up, Sanguine himself surely won't. Which also felt too naive to me, but it wasn't a too extreme contradiction, at least.
I'll test the other dialogue options on another character tomorrow.

I chose wisely!

I used the friendly option there, but nonetheless some very disharmonic melody started to play, but the outcome was positive (The lovers being fine and talking about going out together or something like that? It was a bit hard to hear because there was so much noise from exploding flashy mounts from players who left the location), but the cultist also seemed happy with the outcome, for unknown reasons. Didn't seem completely right either.
The line was more the NPC holding the instruments stating that the enchantments on the one set of instruments could result in people tearing each other apart. Since we were supposed to be "helping" lovers come out with their feelings I interpreted the instrument as influencing the emotions being discussed in an extreme way.

Interesting. I play a translation and the only tiny bit of info I got was that the "cursed" instruments would cause "more passionate" reactions, and that I could also choose other instruments for a "more gentle" reaction instead.

My character today chose to trick the cultist (if that's even possible...) by fetching the uncursed ones instead of the cursed ones, and in that task before that by fetching red wine instead of blood (At least I think it's meant as tricking the cultist, since the dialogue tells us to get blood, not "blood or wine"? Even if I'd assume that one would easily notice the difference), and in the frog situation, my character outright refused.
When it comes to the instruments, I had no dialogue telling me about what difference there would be depending on my choice, I just assumed that not using the cursed ones would be less lethal for the people involved, so I chose that.
I honestly don't even know what happens (or is supposed to happen) if we use the cursed instruments, since when I tried it on PTS back then, it was also bugged for me and I saw absolutely nothing. The way I know Sanguine, I'd expect the lovers to turn into wild animals and kill each other; but, on the other hand, Sanguine was so horribly tame on Solstice, that I'm somehow in doubt we'd see anything like that.
