Tried the 2,1,3 thing and got nowhere. Multiple times.
The quoted part above was what was missing.
Once that is complete I re-entered and went through gate 2. That put me in the same area but as soon as I went through gate 2, it was a totally different area (much larger with different mobs),0 -
Just to follow-up here, five years later... You have to use the rune to speak to Leythen OUTSIDE of the maze for it to work.
BEFORE entering the maze, there are two ways to get to where you use the rune to talk to Leythen. Either head left around the outside of the maze from the small camp with the campfire and dog, to reach a stream; OR you can head northeast along the stream from the bridge near Ebon Stadmont.
Talking to Leythan, entering the maze, and choosing the right-side portal with the two crows, sent me directly to the camp with the gloam wolves and tents.0
