As a console player, I've been loving how much simpler or just more fun ESO can be thanks to the hard work of the talented people who make addons. However, I have two things I would love to be able to use addons for if they existed, but the fact that they don't already is making me think they may not be possible. I know very little about coding and even less about the possibilities of the ESO API. Can someone more knowledgeable enlighten me?
First: I'm a sorc main and would love to be able to have my combat pets be dismissed when I'm in a town. I run oakensoul and scrolling through my list of active effects to do it manually is such a pain that I rarely bother. I doubt that they'd be able to be dismissed automatically based on location, but would something like the add-on radial menu make it possible? That way it's basically just a shortcut through the menus.
Second: We have a built in option to use a random mount, and to narrow that to favourited mounts as well. Could an equivalent for non-combat pets exist? Like that would pick a random favourited pet each time you log in or reset the UI. There are so many adorable pets and I never remember to actually use most of them, it'd be nice to have some variety without having to actually think each time I come online.
To be clear, I'm not asking anyone to make these even if they can be done, I just want to know if they're possible at all. If I know for sure that they're not, then I can stop wondering everytime I'm annoyed by my matriarch's flapping in town, or every time I see someone go past with a pet I have and like but have used maybe twice ever.
