Many posts have been made about how both of these are driving players from Cyrodiil, though I don't recall seeing any videos about it. Here is one that shows how overpowered this set and scribing skill have become. All of the players on the leaderboards use it, not just casual players who aren't as skilled. There is no skill in pushing one button and removing the ability of the player to control their own character for several seconds, and oftentimes you can get pulled by RoA even if you are blocking. If you are currently dodge rolling away from RoA, you are grabbed and pulled violently in the opposite direction anyway. In the first video clip, my character is being pulled in several different directions within seconds which implies that I have been hit with charm multiple times because I never got control of my character before I died. The second video clip shows that I am dodge rolling away and RoA pulls me in anyway.

    That second clip was insane.

Even more insane, is that people will watch that and still tell you you’re lying about Rush of Agony.
Dragon Priest [Restoring Light, Draconic Power, Grave Lord]
Death Knight [Grave Lord, Winter’s Embrace, Siphoning]
Pyromancer [Ardent Flame, Dawn’s Wrath, Earthen Heart]

Druid [Earthen Heart, Animal Companions, Stormcalling]

The problem is pretty obvious. You, like everyone else I have seen complain about this set, just want to be able to get out of every single form of damage by spamming roll dodge and getting away, such is evident from your own video. You attempt to roll dodge out of all instance of threat and get pulled in, if you had simply blocked, after the delayed pull, you would not be pulled. The current iteration of RoA is extremely easy to play against. It requires a skill to proc, the person proccing it is generally very obvious, and the delay combined with the visual indicator is very telegraphed.

Your position isn't updated until the entire roll dodge animation is completed so you aren't even out of the AoE.

Even before RoA was nerfed people bombing would still choose to run dark con because RoA required being in melee range. If a group is running you down you will probably die anyway when you are that vastly outnumbered, but complaining about it when you can see in your own video that you are misplaying is silly.

Charm on the other hand should be at least fixed because it will bug you and pull you through the map.

What's insane about it? The person is extremely close to the center of the AoE when they attempt to (for whatever reason) roll dodge out of it.

I have never seen an actual good reason to remove RoA. I play against it daily, it will pull me once every maybe 20 or so pulls. If you are under CC immunity it does literally nothing to you, even if you aren't you just right click. Charm is actually game breaking and bugs your character. I have not seen someone bugged by RoA pull in a long time and the instances in which it does are far less often. Charm as well as templar javelin constantly bug people into walls or desync them. RoA is perfectly fine, it's a learn to play issue for most players.

You can’t roll dodge RoA. Because of client-side lag and latency to the server, it may appear that you’re out of the circle when, on the server side, you’re still inside it. That isn’t what’s happening in this clip, though. In the second clip, you roll dodged out of a different, random AoE, and then RoA actually gets cast and pulls you back in from about two inches away after you try to dodge out of it. You didn’t even react when the telegraph appeared, and when you finally did, you tried to roll dodge. Again, you can’t roll dodge RoA.

You also have a lot of room for improvement. You need to be looking around more, avoid stacking with other pugs because that makes you an easy target, use a higher field of view, and zoom your camera out more. You should also hold block instead of rolling, and consider using a movement skill like Streak to escape more easily.

Expecting the developers to dumb the game down to an extremely low skill level while you yourself aren’t making an effort to improve isn’t very productive.

RoA is terrible and breaks many rules . However this has been discussed endlessly in hundreds of posts for years and ZOS has ignored it. That said here is how to deal with RoA:
    1) set enemy area effect to red
    2) when you see the huge red circle hold block
    3) don’t drop block until you see the RoA red thin chain drop off. Move slowly away until it drops
    4) hover your finger over interrupt. The second you see the “charmed” , interrupt it
    5) after the RoA chain has dropped you can streak away ( best, and you can do this while blocking) or run away. If you do anything before the chain drops(eg dodge roll or streak) you can be pulled back even 30m (very annoying)

The above can prevent the death vortex 90% of time in my experience. But sometimes depending on the timing charm will still get you
4 GOs, and General, and bunches of prefects etc-- all classes...I've wasted a lot of time in PVP over the last 8 years

Since the nerf, RoA has become easy to block. I can’t remember the last time I got pulled by it. Once you learn to block it, it becomes second nature. Ballgroups have opted for soul burst pulls and even Void Bash since RoA is so unreliable now.

As for Warden Charm, this needs to go.

Agree on every point. All the pulls are so telegraphed now that I automatically block rush. This entire thread seems like a learning pain issue for the original poster. You just need to learn the basics of the game, and it should get easier for you.

In the second clip, I am trying to position myself so I can drop a negate on the ball group, that is why I am where I am.

You are inside the RoA pull and you get pulled. Learn to block it and stop trying to avoid every single mechanic in the game by roll dodging.

One player is removed from being able to control their character any time CC is applied to them until they break free or it ends. Do you want CC removed entirely from the game? No? Then that's a complexly useless point to make. Why don't you instead actually make some point as to why it should be removed. You misplayed and were punished because of it. Try blocking.

Why do people assume 50% mitigation is enough to save you from multiple Vicious Death procs?

Rush of Agony breaks two rules that have been established for years. You can dodge pulls, and you get CC immunity when pulled.

If you block, you die from everyone who got pulled, if you dodge, you die from being pulled, the common suggestion I’m seeing is “streak out” yet you need one of 21 skill lines, and 1 of 5 active skills within that skill line just to counter a rule breaking set.

So yes, people will watch that second clip and not realize how disgusting that is to watch, let alone deal with.

Also want to say, this isn’t the best argument.

You have a really good one with Rush of Agony breaking the rules we’ve gotten used to, but CC should exist within the game.

I could not block the RoA pull in the second video because I was avoiding getting run over by the ball group in the second clip and tried to dodge roll out of the way.. Yes, I know to block but there are times that you can’t. If I had blocked then I would not have withstood the damage of all those guys ulti dumping inside the RoA circle. That, or some guy on my team in the circle would have forgot to block and I would have died to a VD proc. You don’t just stand there and block when a ball group is steamrolling like that.

Now I have to get ready for a vet trial so I have to go for now.

Yes, like I have previously said before, sometimes you are just going to die when greatly outnumbered, that is the nature of the game. You have zero idea whether or not you would have died to the bomb if you had blocked, block mitigation is extremely strong and would have reduced the vast majority of the damage done, including the damage done from the players that died. I'm sorry but nobody who plays at a high level would say, "well I figured I would die anyway so I tried to roll out of something that literally isn't possible to roll out of" they would have just blocked.

So PvP is only PvP when no one ever loses control of their character, which basically means PvP shouldn’t include half the mechanics in the game?

Right, I’ll make sure to inform the entire WoW playerbase that decades of arenas, battlegrounds, and world PvP don’t count, because at some point someone got stunned.

Dark Convergence was added to the game before RoA and cannot be dodged. It does break the second one though. Truthfully I find warden charm to be the much bigger issue here. Charm ccs are laggy and take extra time to break free compared to other ccs.

In both of those clips, you would’ve died whether the group had Rush of Agony or not. You were single-targeted hard in the first clip, and in the second clip you didn’t move at all and got warden charmed. You were dead either way because you aren’t playing well and lack situational awareness.

At this point, anyone complaining about Rush of Agony, creating threads trying to get it nerfed, or agreeing with nerfing it on the forums is self-reporting that they aren’t very good at PvP.

So don't stack on multiple people? This is just another misplay being punished. There is nothing disgusting about the second clip except the players lack of ability to just hold block and complain after they get pulled.

So disingenuous. You don’t need to stack, as the ones using Rush of Agony CREATE the stacks. 😂

HAHAHHAHA it CREATES the stack?? No way, It pulled people who weren't even in the keep all the way to a stack of players randomly picked because people didn't block??? LOLOLOL. No. The players are right on top of each other, what are you yapping about.

Why do people assume 50% mitigation is enough to save you from multiple Vicious Death procs?

Rush of Agony breaks two rules that have been established for years. You can dodge pulls, and you get CC immunity when pulled.

I agree with this being a misplay. I would imagine the players fighting this enemy group have already seen rush used several times. They clump up at the top of the stairs and bombed because they were too tempting a target.

You’re suggesting that defending a keep you shouldn’t be anywhere near other players? There’s a difference between a hard stack and a soft stack, RoA creates a hard stack, where if it didn’t, Vicious Death wouldn’t be such a problem.

Both charm and ROA need to be removed from pvp.

It's an aoe pull sets. These should not exist in a pvp game. We can agree to disagree I guess. We are all entitled to our opinions.

Sure, I mean at least that's a point, but dark con does the same thing. I'm sure we can find a lot of instances in which only 2-3 sets or skills do something unique that others don't, should we then also remove all of those unique things just because we think they are something that shouldn't exist? Unique things should be appreciated in the game, so long as they are balanced, and RoA is not overpowered at all.

Of course I agree with the fact that RoA is not avoided by roll dodging, but should that be the case? I would love to debate that.
