Where does Crux come from..

I have been playing an Arcanist again for a bit, and everytime I play I wonder where does the crux that an Arcanist can generate come from..is it connected to Nirncrux? do any have thoughts of where it might come from? I even looked up the meaning of Crux - its Metaphorical meaning: A critical juncture, difficult point, or the essential part of an issue, like the "crux of the matter"...which still does not explain to me its origins in ESO

I don't believe they ever put it in an actual lore and just designed it as a 'system'. I looked through all 'published' lore of Arcanist in ESO and don't see any direct reference to the actual mechanic of crux. this quest mentions a small pocket realm known as the Crux so maybe comes from there :? or maybe not since it is so easily generated:
