I am new to the forum, but not Eso so please take that with a grain of salt. I wished to come here to bring up some important questions, concerns and worries that you will not hear from in the PTS or may not have heard from yet on this forum. Some of these issues are my own and others are those of people who are still members of my guilds, trial teams or have left or are considering leaving the game. It is my hope this will generate some interesting and thoughtful discussion rather than unhelpful back and forth. I will start with one of my own and that is the current state of my main character which is a High Elf Warden. It's obviously no secret that Subclassing has brought on a massive wave of change, which some of us wanted and some did not. That character used to accel in all 3 roles in all of the game content. It was a fine healer, tank and dps. It is also my main character and the only one I want to play the game with (it was DK before the Warden was released). While I think the class rework is nice, I am not convinced it will restore any of our characters to their former glory by allowing them to be comparable to Subclass in any role. How is a pure class with only 1 skill line from each role going to compete with one that has 2 or even 3? Im asking this because if you change the makeup of that on my Warden, it is no longer a Warden. 1/3 or 2/3 skill lines of a class are not that class. And you will not be able to convince people who love their characters that 1 of their skill lines makes them that class. It is not my character. I will add that until last summer, I had that character in every type of content in all of those roles, completed it, helped many others complete it and even made leaderboards with it. This being forced to Subclass has caused a great exodus in all of my groups and 3/4 of those people were on crucial support roles. This subject was lightly touched upon in the Twitch Stream, "Why cant MY character hit like that?" Its a great question. I'd say subclass is the reason. "When are our characters going to be able to do that again?" Is mine. And how? This particular issue needs some attention because the longer it exists, the more people will leave. I do not think the current pace of class rework will stop this exodus if it is not drastically sped up. Everything in this game has to do with combat. Even housing, leads material ect. I am struggling to log on myself more and more bc I am playing characters that are not my Warden. Or whatever awful combination of Subclass (I honestly dont know what to call that). Just a thought, if those combinations had their own passives, they'd BE classes. Another item that's not been addressed is the set nerfs. The DK for example. When do we get Pyrebrand or Runecarver un nerfed since we are going to pure fire with the DK? Elf Bane won't do it for everyone. What about Rele? There are plenty of other sets from all the characters that fall into this category. It's Pillagers in my case. Many will argue PvP is the issue there. Maybe it's time to start separating it then? Pillagers will provide ultimate at 5% to the group and 0 in PvP. These things need to be considered in the class refresh. Some of my guildies have stated this as reasons they have left. "If I have to put Null Arca or Ansuul on it, its a beamer" and they dont want it on their DK or whatever is is they've grown to love and play for going on 11 years. A lot of those people ARE still good players or were before they left. They just didn't want to be Arcanists or Templars or some really ugly combination of those. (Which is nearly all you see in Tamriel these days) And they were on the leaderboards and in end game by being things like pure Necros or Nightblades. And what are these reworked characters going to bring to the table that cannot be brought by subclassing? They need to offer something unique that cannot otherwise be obtained. Otherwise most of the trial leaders will simply call for them to change their characters or Subclass, even more so than they already have since last summer. I hoped to highlight some of these points on behalf of a lot of people you dont normally hear from in our Eso community. Im interested to see where the discussion goes concerning some of these specific points. I came here because I care very deeply about something that has been a part of our lives for over a decade. And all of the wonderful people who have been a part of it.
