Subclassing Rework

2026 looks very promising for ESO, I'm really happy with the changes coming this year to the game, turning our heads back to 2025 where subclassing had a mixed review in the community, I would like to propose reducing the available skill lines you can have from 2 to 1, this will not only help classes bring more variety instead of everyone looking the same in PvE and PvP.

It'll bring some sort of identity back to the class without feeling the need to subclass, let's be honest even after class refresh people will figure out the meta and everyone will be again the same, but it's still early days for the class refresh with Dragonknight so the devs have ample time to design the refresh keeping in mind that one of the skill lines will be used by another class.

Just a small proposal with me playing 15k+ hours in Tamriel, I think I have a small understanding of how to make the game better and ZOS is already in the right path. Cheers!

There is already too much compromise in our class reworks, the new Whip requires you to be a Dragonknight.

If anything, they need to open up the 3rd line, and let you subclass multiple skill lines from the same class.

Elementalist [Stormcalling, Winter’s Embrace, Ardent Flame]

I see that's also a good point, I hope streak, blastbones etc should require you to be from that respective class as well, it's abused way too much in PvP atm.

Yup and you already know livid I am.

It’s why I’ve crossed Ardent Flame out of the two classes on my Signature. This change gutted them.

We’re on opposite sides of the subclassing spectrum, I wish it would be harsher and not only applicable to PvE.

I would love to hear your opinion on “What is a class?” if you’ve got the time. Having an opposite opinion perspective might help.
