Argonian Bonus vs Crown Tripots = Not Working

For some reason if I attempt to use crown tripots on my argonian with the racial potion bonus it does not work.

Just wondering if this is normal and or if it can be fixed, Thanks

Yes it simply blacks out my potion slot.
