Welcome to The Elder Scrolls Online PTS v11.3.1! This week, you will have a chance to try out, Night Market, our brand new Event Zone. As a reminder for last week’s PTS Patch Notes, the NIght Market is designed to be more difficult than your average zone. Make sure to find friends or tag along with other adventurers to brave these challenges. As always, please let us know what you think of the event zone. You can find a feedback thread, here.

Additionally, there is a list of Dragonknight changes that have beeen added based on the feedback from last week. Those include changes like the animation to Earthspike Mantle. In the realm of combat, you will also find we reverted the week one note for the Healing over Time Stack penalty in Battlespirit. We will revisit this fix at a later date.

Regarding events, Jester’s Festival is up this week for testing. You will find new rewards and some changes to event tickets as those will be going away. You will be able to test Trade Bars and how they function in relation to events here.

Lastly, Cyrodiil will be unavailable this week for PTS. Some work is being done on Aleswell Farm. Cyrodiil will be back next week. Thank you for providing feedback to improve U49/ Season Zero content for launch. This update is around 328MB in size. Thanks!

    Night Market

Please note, the Night Market will be going live on Jan. 20 when PTS Week 2 goes live. It will also remain playable on the PTS until Feb. 24, after the PTS cycle officially ends, for players who wish to get in more testing time. We are providing Night Market information now, so that you have additional information on what to expect.

Night Market will be active in about an hour after PTS Week 2 is live.

The Night Market, a valuable trade hub for all manner of goods both worldly and daedric, is in constant flux as different patrons vie for control of its resources. There is a power vacuum currently within the Market as the former leader has disappeared and three rival patrons have laid claim to the mantle of leadership. These claims hold little sway as malevolent forces have pushed their way into the Market and districts have fallen. Mortals are normally shunned from this area of Fargrave, but the patrons have opened the pathway to hopefully entice their aid to become the ruler of the Market.
    New Zone Type!
    • Brand new Zone Type called an “Event Zone.”
    • More difficult than your average zone, you will want to find friends or tag along with other adventurers to brave these challenges.
    • Pledge to Patrons and engage in activities to win favor for your chosen faction.
      • Glittering Goad: The Glittering Goad gets its name from the amassed wealth of their faction. The faction primarily runs the auctions and stands within the Night Market and takes their own cuts. Prestigious auctions seek out Glittering Goad members to sell their wares as they are sure to fetch the best prices. They are a meritocracy, believing anyone has a chance to make it big in the Night Market, provided they pay for the privilege.
        • Patron: Tachien
      • The Ruckus: This faction seeks to control through strength. They want a cut of everything sold and offer “protection” to those parties wanting to do business in the Night Market. They were primed to be the rulers of the Night Market until their district was overrun with darkness and grief.
        • Patron: Kharakhal Moon-Eye
      • Thousand Eyes: The Thousand Eyes is a faction nearly as old as the Night Market itself. It is comprised of the small, the skittering, the insignificant… but in those numbers, great power. They have banded together to blunt the strength of other factions by seeking knowledge in the crevices and information in overheard conversations.
        • Patron: Molto the Whisperer
    Three Themed Districts To Explore
    • The Parch: A dry wind sweeps through this district, rattling bones in its arid landscape.
    • Skittering Precinct: Overrun with the crawling and skittering creatures making nests in the walls.
    • Sorrow’s Friend: This dark and foreboding district is home to all manner of creatures that lurk in the shadows.
    Activities To Discover And Conquer
    • Bosses and challenging Monsters: Faceted, Brazen, Argent, and Calamitous monsters stalk the streets.
    • Daring Races: How quickly can you traverse – and survive – the winding streets of each district?
    • Oddities: To challenge those more puzzle oriented.
    • Skirmishes: New public style events with goals to accomplish when they’re available.
    • 4-Player Bosses: Gilded monsters run each district in specialized instances for 4 players.
    • 12-Player Trial Encounter: The culmination of the Night Market for those that have bested its challenges. The Opulent Ordeal is a brand new trial encounter to test your coordination and skill.
    Unlocks and Rewards
    • Boons: Activities will grant powerful effects within the Night Market. Stacking these effects could be the key to your success.
    • Favor: Earned with your chosen faction to unlock new items to purchase on your faction vendor.
    • The Night’s Den: A New House! Earned by completing the introductory quest in Night Market. It even has an entrance directly from the Night Market!
    • Relics: Each district has an unlockable relic which will allow you to press deeper into the district and explore new areas.
    • Even more to discover within the Night Market...
    Achievements
    • There are 61 achievements, with 6 new titles and 3 new dyes!
      • The title “Firebrand” and the dye “Ruckus Rust” are rewarded to you for completing the “Ruckus Favorite” achievement.
      • The title “The Scurrying” and the dye “Thousand Eyes Ichor” is awarded to you for completing the “Thousand Eyes Favorite” achievement.
      • The title “Priceless” and the dye “Glittering Gold” is awarded to you for completing the “Goad Favorite” achievement.
      • The title “Diamante” is awarded to you for completing the “Bedlam Across the Planes” achievement.
      • The title “Pathwalker” is awarded to you for completing the “Essence of Battle” achievement.
      • The title “Interplanar Victor” is awarded to you for completing the “Night Marketeer” achievement.
    Collectibles
    • Mementos
      • The Egg of Arac memento is acquired by completing the “Gauntlet Bearer” achievement.
      • The Windglass memento is acquired by completing the “Wind Slicer” achievement.
      • The Gleaming Lamp memento is acquired by completing the “Gloom Warder” achievement.
    • Furnishings
      • Various busts and trophies are available for purchase from associated faction vendors.
      • Furnishing versions of the above mementos are also available to purchase.
    • Skill Styles
      • Twelve Dragonknight-related skill styles are available for purchase from the Stylemaster Vendor to those who have mastered Dragonknight as a class or subclass.
    How To Get Started
    • Navigate to eastern Fargrave or use the new icon on the Fargrave Map to teleport directly there. Then speak to the Curator at the entrance!

    Event: Jester’s Festival
Jester’s Festival returns with some significant changes. Let’s dive in.
First, you’ve likely noticed that Event Tickets are gone. Any previous Event Tickets you had have converted to Trade Bars on a 1:100 basis (that is, if you had 3 Event Tickets before U49, those turn into 300 Trade Bars). In general, but not always, things that were previously priced for tickets now cost Trade Bars at that same ratio (a 5 ticket item might be 500 Tickets).
On quests where you would have previously earned Event Tickets, you instead now earn a container of Trade Bars. The reward ratio is still the same; if a daily quest would have given you 3 Event Tickets it will instead now give you 300 Trade Bars in a container as part of the quest reward.

For Jester’s Festival itself, you can expect no other significant changes save a cycling of the rewards. The new outfit available from the Stupendous Jester’s Festival Box is the “One Bad Knight” style, who has had it rough lately.

The Impresario will also carry Bound versions of these style pages, as well as the final fragment for the Roseblood Wings Recall customized action (“Sanguine's Goodbye Kiss”) so you can complete that collectible.

Also worth noting, the Stupendous Jester’s Festival Box as a chance to give you the first fragment of the next combining collectible before it becomes available for Trade Bars in the Anniversary Jubilee. The collectible itself is a mount called the Thorn’s Bite Withersteed, and the associated fragment drop is called the Blooming Saddle. If you are fortunate, this will save you having to spend Trade Bars on the fragment in the next event.

As noted in the last update’s PTS notes, combining collectibles (what we previously called morphing collectibles) no longer consume the base item/pet. As it’s no longer implied to be “morphing” the pet, we didn’t feel this language fit the vibe anymore.

        • Draconic Power
          • Dragonfire Breath
            • Engulfing Dragonfire: This ability now has a small global cooldown window after it ends, to prevent your character from getting stuck in various broken states if you frequently input other commands while the ability is still channeling – this will result in the same safeguards as other channels such as Radiant Destruction. This results in fixing both the case of being able to stack the ability with itself and being able to cast other abilities while casting this one.
        • Earthen Heart
          • Earthspike Mantle: This ability now animates properly if activated in rapid succession.
    • Visuals and Audio

        • Fixed a typo in the tooltip and added the scaling properties of the set's healing and damage (Max Health and Weapon or Spell Damage respectfully).
      • Thousand Eyes
        • The Shiv no longer reveals hidden enemies when transferring to a new target.
        • Thousand Eyes now has a short delay when re-applying Shiv to targets. This will prevent visual and audio clutter when killing large groups of low health enemies.
