I find it unreasonable to put so many leads in the treasure map chests. There is no way (that i know of) to farm specific are's treasure maps. I have spent so much gold for trying to get the lead that only drops from those. What fun is in a system that you can't effect one way or another. For 4months I didn't buy any maps to those areas I need the leads from. Played the game. Got 1..1! map. I gave in and been hunting the silly maps from traders for a week now. I might spot 2-4 maps a day (not gonna be glued to the screen for the whole day) and no lead. Please remove leads from the treasure maps chests. There is absolutely no need for you to make us suffer with rng that we have to basically invest gold into.

    My suggestions to ZOS:
Treasure maps for a particular zone have a higher chance to drop in that zone, from bosses and such.

Treasure maps should be a guaranteed lead drop.
Lock boxes have a 90%ish lead drop.
Overland chests 80%ish for master lock with a 10-15% drop chance reduction for each lower level of lock. Ending at 10-15% for simple locks.

Also, maybe a lead vendor (stationed in the Antiquarian guild in Western Skyrim) with a weekly rotating list of leads for furnishings from older zones, with new zones being added to the rotation once the zone is no longer new.

I know there are leads sold in Infinite Archives for multipart based furnishing, but to my knowledge, there are few to no "one and done" furnishing leads sold.

I'd argue there are no one and done furnishing leads. You need 3 codex entries to unlock buying the furnishing for gold from the various achievement vendors.

I meant a furnishing that only has 1 lead, as opposed to multiple "fragments" that each have to be found before that item is "complete". I wasn't referring to the codex. Example, the phoenix feather from Summerset, as opposed to the Apocryphal Well from Telvanni Peninsula.

I know what you meant. I stand by my point.

There are some, that you can buy after one dug, like the druidic oven or telvanni alchemy starion, bc those leads are just point and click. You just need to find all parts. All other types needs the 3 codex entries,

    Problem with these is that:
    1. You have really increased chances of getting a lead you haven't gotten at all
    2. You have increased chances of getting a lead if you haven't gotten one for some time (can't say if daily, 3 days, a week...)
    3. For leads inside treasure map chests, you have a chance to get a lead from a chest, even when you have that lead and haven't dug it, making it impossible to "curate" leads. If you already have the lead waiting to be scried and you get one from the chest, it'll be hidden since you can't loot it again, but it can be technically in the chest
    4. You need to dig a lead thrice to be able to buy copies of most lead sourced furnishings.
    5. There's no source for most of them. Meanwhile IA vendors offer leads for mythics often

I've lost millions digging West Weald treasure maps, since they said they doubled the loot during one event, only for it to be almost the same regarding leads.
This text used to said "Main: Dragonknight Tank". Way before subclassing, my raid leaders made sure I had many identity crises on both roles and classes. I tonked. Or dodoed. Or healed. Updating accordingly.
