How do I turn off Battleground chat (if at all possible)

I normally keep my in-game chat completely off because of the sheer toxicity I observe there. However, today I joined a Battlegrounds match just to get further in my golden pursuits, and somehow the following text slipped through:

Is there a way to disable this feature? I don't want the text visible whatsoever. I can't figure out how to turn off the "Group" chat.

✭✭✭✭I'd suggest editing that image to remove player names, or removing the image, as that violates forum rules.
As for turning off the chat, as Soarora mentioned you'd have to turn off group chat using the gear icon in the chatbox.
Since one might want group chat enabled in other circumstances, I'd suggest creating an additional chat tab where you leave it enabled, that you can switch to if you're in a group that you actually do want to interact with.3 -
