ZOS's new stance: "What if...?"

Hello, I decided to open this thread after the most recent stream from the dev team and their promises for the upcoming year. What strike me most in that stream was their declared position of trying to overcome obstacles originally announced as impossible in the past, by adopting an "what if...?" attitude. As an example to that, they promised increased housing slots, the extent of that "impossibility" all too known to the housing community and so forth.

So here I am, standing with some very tiny "what if's" proposals of my own. Why? Because I consider them simple actually, and not in the least impossbile, likely part of the type of details nobody cares about.

1. The infamous "Design: Garlic String, Display". What if you either: tell us plain and clear that said design does not exist or make that design actually drop at a decent enough rate to be able to be called a design. Either way, the myth of the ellusive garlic furnishing plan shall be dismissed once and for all! I'm happy either way!

2. Musical instruments furnishings. They exist, we see them in game all around, base game included. The request for them stands in ... forever. They aren't even in the crown-store. And I am talking about simple, normal ones: lutes, drums, harps, I even saw a guqin once. These new fancy-organs you offered don't really cut it as visuals of daily-instruments. They are more of an extraordinary occurence in the musical world. Plus, assuming Tamriel is developing it's own musical complexity - how many ordinary inhabitants would be able to afford those shinny new organs, currently the only available musical istruments as furnishing? And seriously, how many glasses are you willing to fill and arrange for a daily practice session, reasonably?

Again, disclaimer of impossibility on this second point is welcomed too, rather than silence or vague answers.

Thank you for reading. This thread is intended for similar "what ifs" - simple, apparently possible. e39vhuuywi6s.png

Musical instruments would be awesome to have as furnishings,
but they do not exist as furnishings, only as assets.
it is only furniture if we can use it in Housing.

Instruments, like weapon racks and many other things we want as furnishings, exist as assets in the game. ZOS can make assets into furnishings, which they do all the time.

Maybe we get more instruments in update 49, we see on Monday.
We got the Vossa-Satl as furniture with update 47. it is an Argonian instrument, they do use it daily.

Unsure what fancy organs refers to, but you mention glass so i will say personally i love the 3 glass harps we got. And you could practice that daily, if you want.

    miaow! i'm Luna ( she/her ).

Since these are housing items, this might be better in the Systems section where the Housing team will have a better chance to see it.

I know for a fact they are addressing "what ifs" like this, even if slowly. Of course they can't do every specific thing everyone wants all at once. And even if some are easy, they might be lower priority on a loooooong list. Or they may not be as easy as they appear. I suspect there are reasons some oft-requested old items haven't been made into furnishings, like issues with the model, or other. (And from my POV, too few people on Comms: Housing devs aren't allowed to reply / tell us those reasons, but godspeed to Kevin alone trying to field thousands of posts.)

But I know they read. And quite a few things on this compiled list have been done in the past year! (Marked "fulfilled".)
