ESO+, Seasons and the bonus Tome Tokens

"All Caches and Tokens are granted immediately up front with your ESO Plus membership purchase. For example, if you purchase six months of ESO Plus membership, you’ll immediately receive six Caches of Tome Points and six Premium Tome Tokens."

I purchase ESO+ 6 months at a time, and my current sub ends in February. Since the Seasons don't begin until April what happens?

Will I get credit for months April onward?
Will I lose out completely since I'm not actually renewing during the Seasons?
Will I get credit for the whole 6 months?

I'm sure I'm not the only one in this situation. For instance I have a friend who pays yearly in December.

Yeah, ZOS need to award based on subscription remaining.

My yearly sub is in June. Based on the information I have read they did not think of this and do not have a answer.

Guess we wait and see.

That's not quite fair either. It would mean that someone who subscribes/renews an annual sub in March would have to wait an entire year to get a tome, whereas someone who subs/renews two weeks later in April would get 12 tokens right up front.

A fairer/better way to do it would be to give subscribers the number of tokens equal to their sub period when seasons go live. So annual subscribers would get 12, 6-months gets 6, etc. Yes, it means some subscribers get "free" tokens in the end, but it's a transition to something new and so can't be perfect. Doing it that way would be fairer to subscribers that have been supporting them for a while and have already renewed.

There was a comment somewhere about every month subbed this year will get a token but I can't for the life of me find it. I'm actually beginning to think I imagined it!

My PC sub runs out in February too - I was in 2 minds whether I should renew it (I was only levelling to play with my daughter) but I guess I'll wait for now

The phrasing seems to imply it only counts new purchase/renewals during the new season, at least that’s how I understood it when I read it. What if someone is paid up through 2027? Will they receive the tokens when the new season goes live or not until it needed to be renewed again in 2027? Ideally they would credit you for your remaining sub time.

To me, that says that since I am an ESO+ subscriber this month, I get a credit this month. I think that's what she's saying there.

Yeah, someone posted something from a ZOS article in the official reveal thread. Basically when seasons go live, you'll get credited for every month you're subbed in 2026, including Jan, Feb, March. And you get the tokens up front. That means continuous annual subscribers will get 12 tokens right away. If you were subscribed for a shorter period but switched to an annual sub, you'll get 12 tokens right away because you've been subscribed since January and you're subbed through the year. If you're on a monthly sub, you'll get 3 tokens right away (if you've been subscribed since January).
