All my enthusiasm and optimism went out the window the second dragonknight animation CHANGES were shown. Have we learned nothing from the templar jabs controversy? Can we STOP CHANGING EXISTING ANIMATIONS PLEASE. Either make it completely OPTIONAL like a style or dye or not at all! Stop forcefully changing animations the players have grown accustomed and attached to for years.

I absolutely loved the changes. Same for 2H. That's just your opinion homie.

Why "Season Zero"? If this is supposed to be "the first season", that makes it Season One by definition, and Seasons of the Worm Cult becomes Season Zero by relegation (since SotWC was advertised as a "Season" already, and not a "Chapter").

Likely a play on "Ground Zero" or the beginning. You could also do Season 1, but they decided to add a little flare to it. I think Season of the Worm Cult needs to be stored in a box far in the basement lol.

@ZOS_Kevin any plans on server hardware update like we did few years ago and it was lag free for months?

And they showed none of the actual class adjustments. Which is the main thing people wanted about classes. Not more taxing animations, CLASS IDENTITY but instead "here's a few flashy animations instead of what you came here to see"

I would have liked to learn something about the story content, but aside from mentioning Thieves Guild and Uncle Sheo as keywords, there was nothing – I play ESO for the stories, not for rewards. And there was no mention of a new zone either. Because a new zone always means new furnishings – I don't need a higher limit of housing slots in my houses if there aren't any new furniture or structural furnishings to inspire me to build new houses/decorate something new and excting.

No mention of a new zone because there is no new zone. I doubt we will see another one, ever. Maybe a new town or village springing up somewhere or family dynasty/tribe to run a new questline off of, who knows.

I think they can always introduce new furnishings, even for existing zones, doesn't need a new zone to do that. If new questlines then they will get incorporated into that. No shortage of ideas for furnishings I'm sure. But it would be nice if they actually defined it and said they were going to offer say 10 or 15 new furnishing patterns a season.
Myself, I love just more every day furnishings but embellished - like full cupboards and shelves, the cheese rack, etc. Doesn't have to be an entirely new style. But that's me.

Tying class balance to visual rework is... I can't think of nice words. By your own roadmap, only 3 classes balanced in 2026, which means at best it will be 2 years before the first pass of class/multiclass balancing? Completely killed the hype for me.

I expect the servers will disappear before that. This is maintenance mode, there's no point in kidding ourselves anymore

    $120 for Seasons
+$140 for 1 year of ESO Plus
    ——————
$260 per year for the “full” experience 😵

That doesn’t even include other cash grabs… items sold for real money instead of crowns (for example, the anniversary pet and the house in the housing starter pack).

This is significantly more money for what seems to be far less meaningful, new content.

When has paid cosmetics ever been part of the full experience though? I think 12 months is too long to have to wait to get 1 free pass but at least the passes are just cosmetics.

Gameplay is literally fixing to be free. That's way more important than cosmetics for myself, personally. I will not be buying every pass, personally. Just if there's something cool I want in it.

    Hi ZoS.

I like the news I'm hearing about the direction of ESO. However...

It's lovely that you had Twitch Drops for watching the reveal stream, but being in Australia, some of us are being distinctly left out. I wake up this morning, to see that I would have needed to have woken up at 5AM to watch on Twitch.

Come on guys, Australia already has ass ping to NA, and we're always on the wrong side of guild events time-wise. Can we please find a way to not punish this time zone on the precious Twitch Drops by limiting them for a single hour, before reasonable people wake up?

    Thanks

    I feel your pain.
When I was working (semi-retired now) I never got to watch them at 3pm my time. I was at work! And I was like... most of NA is at work at that time of day, at least all of EST zone, why on earth 3pm? or 1pm as some were? etc.
Or at least they could offer 2 showings to accommodate your type of zone, offering drops on both but they can only be claimed once to avoid folks trying to get from both.
It could definitely be a timed or shown in a different way so at least most get a chance, I agree.

Voiceover support for Updates 47, 48 and 49 and some voice lines for Pass Content 2025 are not available in French. For the best experience, we recommend enabling subtitles in the game. We look forward to bringing back French voice over as soon as possible and appreciate your understanding.

Personally, I think ZOS is making better decisions about how to generate money and make it more simplified or at least less ambiguous.

That said, the overall reveal seemed very cash flow centric and it seems like they have goals set by the big brother. My issue with this, cosmetics aren’t enough to keep me spending money, it works when the game is being developed and balanced and is truly fun, but ESO players have been dropping like flies because of all things unrelated to cosmetics. The two year + balance plan needs expedited or big brother goals won’t be met because players will continue to leave.

Also, stop bringing up Vengeance when PvP is discussed, it’s an annoying slap in the face to your PvP community. We all know it’s DoA, just stop.

So, I wanted to write another more detailed post.

I do appreciate overland difficulty options and small changes like an increased furniture limit, or faster horse levelling (though I don't need that anymore, since after a decade, all my characters have already reached maximum), or introducing some solo dungeons (I've soloed all base game and some dlc dungeons already, but once there's a solo mode for the ones I couldn't solo yet, I'll surely make use of that to experience the story once, at least).

I also appreciate the promise to listen to feedback more, and to do surveys and such - though I remain sceptical. We already have a PTS forum, for years, after all, and despite being asked for feedback there, I rarely saw our posts having any impact.

Changing event tickets to trade bars (now that's what it is - event tickets had already been accidentally renamed to "trade bars" when the Solstice event released, but have been changed back to the old name again) is no real difference. Thank you for dropping the carry limit, but except for that I don't see a big difference here. Changing daily and weekly endeavors, daily login rewards and golden pursuits for "Tamriel Tomes" also makes no big difference for me.

Most of all: It's no new playable content. And that's why I'm here. And that's what makes me really concerned for ESO's future: There's barely any new content this year! And it's not the first time this happens; we see a constant reduction for years now. First, companions were removed. Then we also didn't get a new ToT deck this year. And zones got smaller and smaller: From one big summer chapter and one smaller winter chapter to only one big chapter, to only one smaller chapter, to... well, nothing now, it seems. No new zone doesn't only mean no new quests in that zone, it also means no new incursion type, dungeons, delves, furnishing style, antiquities, etc.

So it looks the only real new content introduced now (except for some vague Thieves Guild and Sheogorath quests later this year, most probably without any new zone attached to it - otherwise it would surely have been mentioned - that weren't spoken about yet) is the Night Market. Which also doesn't seem to have much story or lore content attached to it but is about fighting dangerous bosses in loose groups, correct? And it's also time-limited content (which I generally disapprove of) that is scheduled to appear twice, and perhaps - but not for sure - somewhen in the future. Which only creates FOMO, by the way, especially if there's a house attached to it as a reward (which is probably the only reason I will ever play this). The size of the new map? Well, it's supposed to be some market, not a whole landscape, so I expect about Writhing Wall dungeon size at most? It's not much for a whole year.

You might notice I'm speculating a lot here - since these things just weren't clarified. Or perhaps there was more about that on those powerpoint overview pictures? Unfortunately, those were often just visible for one second, so it was not really possible to read them.

There just seems to be barely anything of interest this year. Well, lots of "rewards" for doing chores, obviously. But: I play this game to experience interesting stories and Elder Scrolls lore, not to collect digital clutter with no lasting value. Let's be honest: Once the servers go offline some day, it will all just be gone. The only value it has is being nice to look at while playing content - without content, why would I need collectibles like mounts or costumes, and when would I ever look at them?

I'm also concerned about the monetarisation aspects. Will anything useful be gated behind that? If so, will it in the end become much more expensive than just buying the chapter and dungeons had been? Honestly, I couldn't even see the price because the spreadsheet was gone again before I could read all of it.

Another small remark: When people said they want more items earnable through playing the game, they surely meant for free, as quest rewards, not that you need to buy some battle pass for it or even just that chore lists become the game's main focus without new quest content at all.

I feel a little better about the pricing as I read the newer articles that go a bit more in depth.

Well, not so much that I find the pricing any more acceptable, but moreso that I can easily find myself skipping Premium+ on a season by season basis.

For example, I can easily skip the Season 0 Premium+ $30 tier and happily settle for the $15 tier without any regrets because the Season 0 collectible isn't anything I'd lose sleep over not collecting.

Oh my god thanks finally a real answer, but for U47 & U48 WE PAYED for the Content Pass 2025 fully translated, can we get a DATE for when it will come back? And can we expect a compensation for the waiting?
It been more than 6 months and we still cannot do half of the pass in the language we started it...

I guess I just want to mirror some others on this thread about my confusion about what everyone is so enthusiastic about. I am a PvE player, so I should look forward to new dungeons -- nope, there aren't any; a new trial - nope; a new zone with story quests - nope; a new class - nope; account-wide armory slots - nope only the dress-up slots; my ESO+ subscription getting more value - not a chance. So why am I excited again?

    I’m wary.

Some of the things mentioned sounded good (30 days on the trader is back!), other things I want to wait and see on the PTS -Endeavors chore lists being consolidated into ‘Tamriel Tomes’, how is the Outfit thing going to work for people who bought them on more than one character? And some things I’m very 🤨 about - Night Market is temporary? I don’t like where that seems to be heading.

I don’t think anything is going to drive me off, because I barely play as it is. But I don’t think any of this is going to bring me back to playing full time either.

I'm also left with quite a bit of reservations after the stream. It's not that anything that was announced is bad per se. It just, apart from getting a new business model, what exactly can we be more confident about in ESO's future now than we were before? What does it actually mean that some of the plans that were already mentioned in previous dev streams have now made it onto a something formatted as a roadmap, if it takes place in a context of announcing a new development MO in which roadmaps don't carry the weight they used to? :D Declaring the 'year of transition' has felt like a stalling technique, especially in hindsight. I'm not too sure the dial has actually moved from vague declarations of intent to hard commitments here. I guess we'll know this time next year what the "year of transparency" brought.

Also everything @tomofhyrule said. As usual.
Please stop making requests for game features. ZOS have enough bad ideas as it is!

I am paid up for ESO+ till August. Not sure I am going to be paying for any Battlepass …sounds frankly ridiculous. Maximum price for minimum effort …… business model ‘let’s reroll existing content and make them pay for it again but a lot more’ and no one will notice. Wrong! No new zone, class, combat system, anything other than cosmetics/visuals/events and fixing stuff you have been going to fix for literally years and years. Thought the writhing wall event was bad and genuinely I left Solstice alone and enjoyed other parts of the game that were less bugged as I was struggling to find ‘fun’ in logging on …… but 2026 reveal …I feel sad but also annoyed at how much you have disrespected loyal players like myself. In my opinion this was just dreadful.

the thing that stands out about the battlepass is any new released content is going to be free. that's huge. any major systems changes, zones, etc- free. the rest is just cosmetic. there's nothing in the battlepass you need to pay for to access new content- you just get it. and that's a really good business model.

However, ZOS need to make it VERY clear that an ESO Plus membership already includes the first tier of the Premium Tamriel Tomes. I saw a ton of people in the stream chat, and a few people in this thread, who don't understand that and think they're being asked to pay two separate subscriptions. I saw a lot of people complaining about having to pay US $30 a month from now on instead of the $15 a month they are accustomed to.

Big Simple Text on a website that we can point people at when they are confused, please!

I think you are mistaken on this.I went back and listened to the stream about this and heard nothing about the first tier of the Premium tomes is included in ESO+. I think both tiers are extra costs in addition to ESO +

I'm not infallible, but I'm sure that's what Susan said. It was said very quickly though, and I don't have the energy to go back through the stream. Either way, it's still quite unclear on the website. So whatever the situation is, it needs to be spelt out CLEARLY.

They posted an article on tomes here on the ESO website that states both tiers are an additional cost. I was hoping you were right, and I was wrong if it matters to you. The link to the ESO page is below.

    https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/69141

If you have an ESO Plus membership, you also gain certain benefits for a Season’s Tome. These include:

A 10% increase in Tome Points earned from challenges
One Cache of Tome Points (containing 2,000) per month of membership
One Premium Tome Token per month of membership
12 tokens grant a free Premium + Bonuses Tamriel Tome
With ESO Plus membership, you not only progress your Tamriel Tomes quicker, but even get a free premium Tome each time you’ve had a total of 12 months of membership.

All Caches and Tokens are granted immediately up front with your ESO Plus membership purchase. For example, if you purchase six months of ESO Plus membership, you’ll immediately receive six Caches of Tome Points and six Premium Tome Tokens.

On the subject of the new Trial, the proposed release date is puzzling because in general, end game MMO communities are less active during the summer than they are during the fall/winter months. Especially during winter holidays.

IMO, the new trial should be released in November.

While there were a lot of things that seem promising, and also a few things that seem concerning/contradictory, there is one thing to share that I feel is vital to the game, yet was not discussed on stream:

The improved writing, narrative, and interaction of quest stories.

All of the other updates to gameplay don't mean much if there isn't a fun game to play.

I'm somewhat excited but I also need to see more and it hinges on how it's all executed.
    • Really happy we're finally getting Vet Overland
    • Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood new questlines are welcomed as I just like crime/heist stories as they're innately more interesting than most
    • If these new storylines are taking place in old zones then I'm less excited as these are so visually dated. I hope ZOS revisits updating old zone visuals and re-thinks it because the starter zone refreshes did not go nearly far enough. I want to see new textures (especially on rocks!), updated architecture, more detail density, updated clothing on NPCs, continuity changes where it makes sense (see Windhelm, Riften, Bruma, basically stuff that looks completely different from mainline games) and even updated weathers with better particles, volumetric fog, etc.
    • I'm worried about event zones in that I don't want my favorite places in Tamriel to be temporary, like Whiterun hold should not be an event zone but pocket realms of Oblivion are fine.
    • On the subject of zones, I do miss the lack of a main zone this year and I'm worried we won't get a large chapter-sized zone again. I know they said it's possible but I've very rarely seen a service game do a 180 once they start offering less and less content. I'd really like to see Whiterun and Falkreath Hold as a large zone and I don't want to see a compromised scaled down version of that.
    • Still waiting on romanceable companions/NPCs, they've dipped their toes but I want characters to be able to form relationships with existing NPCs like Naryu, Razum-Dar, Kireth, etc. Expand on the companion rapport system, add new character specific quests. Maybe even have marriage and incorportate into housing.
    • Still hoping for new weapon skill lines namely; pikes, crossbows and 1H + spells
    • I hope refreshes on weapon skill lines such as 2H brings a better sense of impact to the game. Please have audio overhaul where material is taken into account (hitting light, medium, heavy armor), hit stop animations, enemy reactions to being hit. This is also a good reason to do new weapon skill lines and experiment a bit if you don't want to change what's there without community approval.
    • Oh since Greymoor is base game: Please Bard class, Bard's college questline (class quests would be cool) and do a mini game where we play music in taverns for currency.
