Was really hoping they would have talked more about the new PvP zone but wasn't even mentioned and also about crossplay. Sadly with them taking a whole year just to work on 3 classes I feel like we gonna have to wait 2+ years to get a new PvP zone and crossplay.

I also believe why they switching to seasons and not having chapters is because they can't afford to put the work into big chapters anymore and not because they want to. And taking a whole year for reworking 3 classes just proves my point.

Maybe I am in a minority but I was really hoping for new companions.

By the Eight, I completely forgot about them. Now that you mention it, couldn't they throw us a bone? A Thieves Guild companion maybe? Sigh. It feels like are we getting the bare minimum.

Really excited. Love the new animations changes, very happy with the way it looks. Happy I can earn the base version of tomes by just playing. I like that most future content is free for everyone, and I LOVE that the base Tomes system is free - higher tiers being paid is a good way to generate revenue for game but I feel less like I'm missing out. Being subbed gets us Battlepass currency so I can buy additional stuff in higher tiers. Very happy I can earn stuff I've missed and thought I couldn't get. Feels like more value vs. what I was spending. 12/10 hype, very good reveal.

I do have some fears and dislikes.

Hide "X" - I don't like this. I have a naked tank that I use. I can solo tank normal trials with it and can do veteran DLC dungeons. It's a meme build. Literally no equipment. Not even a s&b in hands. With the option to hide everything, this build loses its meaning when you can just hide all the gear.

Solo Dungeons - story mode is excellent. But I hope this will not take away from end game soloers. Especially with MHK and MoS, which both are used for solo runs already. I hope that solo players can still go to the 4 player instance and get the trifecta there. And if the solo dungeon mode includes anything else than story mode, it would be separate from this.

Battle Passes - Higher prices for less value? 30 bucks for a Season, 3 seasons per year? That's 90 bucks per year. More than the deluxe editions for the expansions. Pay more, get less? This feels like it comes from Microsoft shareholders, not ZOS devs, because you must be a shareholder or at least higher up if you are so out of touch that you think battle passes are a good idea. Those kill games.

i think the log system would fix that issue. im stoked that we're now able to hide anything we want. but if people are 'lying' their way through naked runs, it would show up in logs, so you can call them out :P

Basically everything other than this battle pass system got a sentence at best. The stream was basically showcasing the fact we're getting a new time-gated grind fest to for our cosmetics from now on - the one no one care for will be free, the decent ones will be in the premium pass and the one people will actually be interested in will be in the super duper premium+ pass.

I don't care if there's no time limit on the premium stuff, battle passes are boring and do nothing but disrespect a player's time. 12 months of ESO+ equals a free premium+ battlepass that has a 3 month time window? How generous of you, that means you guys can make us pay for ESO+ and 3 battlepasses while continuing to give us less actual content.

I really cannot stress how disappointed I am with this addition, I'm sick of every game ever cramming a battle pass into it and thinking it's some novel idea when they're nothing but tedious and irritating.

Is there a good reason we can't just earn our cosmetics in-game? Do we really need a subscription, loot boxes and a battle pass for monetisation?

I was kinda excited for the housing limit increase only for it to exclude notable houses which actually be the one that need more furnishing slots to properly decorate.

Nothing revealed actually makes interested to play this year if I'm perfectly honest. Maybe if we get some interesting looking gear or something I will grudgingly try a battle pass but I wouldn't even expect that.

This battlepass thing needs to be included in esoplus SOMEHOW, either let me be just the basic paid tier or still give the premium one after a year WITHOUT requiring a nonstop 12 month sub. 3 (or even 1) Paid Battlepasses plus the subscription is far, far too much.

Or at least let premium plus items be bought with crowns directly or something like that

I need to also add that console players are just the lowest of plebs in every scenario, with another (mandatory, might i add) subscription on top of everything.

If the battle passes organically flow into just doing stuff and replace the chore list, maybe Microsoft isn't wrong. Maybe they're the way to go and will bring in enough money to keep the dividends flowing and the game chugging along.

It's just a chore list by a different name. the only difference is, unless you pay, you will no longer receive all the rewards available for doing those chores.

Actually it's 4 seasons per year. Each season is 3 months.

Current system $50 for content pass, and $140/year for ESO+. Total $190.

    New season model.
    • First year $30/season, that's $120/year. ESO+ $140/year = $260 for first year.
    • Subsequent years $260 minus one season credit of $30 = $230

I feel like any of the players that own all of the previous content in game are losing out on some value with eso+ going forward since new content is released free. Seems like there should be another tier of eso+ for players that own all the previous content but wanna maintain the other eso+ benefits. Like a $10 eso+ membership for everything else aside from dungeon dlc.

    Seasons still? Ha
    A new currency? Hahaha
No class balance dump, just drip fed over 2 years, ww and vamp taking up 1 quarter? HAHAHAHA

Finally account outfit slots. Hope they credit crowns or seals all those who purchased boat loads of slots for their account.

Edit: You have to pay 270 usd a year? Thats 400 pacific peso. ZOS could just make the game more fun and work better to appeal to the genre audience.

This recent update has made me sad. Sad for the game. Sad for the community. Sad to pay whatever it is now. I want the previous eso back.

As long as all I am missing out with Premium Tomes thingies is basically cosmetic, then I don’t care.

Been playing for 10 years & have a stupid number of mounts & costumes & pets & styles that I don’t use anyway. Am now too old to get FOMO.

As long as I can access whatever content they decide to release, that’s ok. Then if I decide that I really want a certain thing, I can buy a pass.

I am very unhappy with how ESO Plus gets treated here. Sure nothing got taken away from it officially, but if all old DLCs get added to the Basegame over time, all ESO Plus has left is the crafting bag. It would have been way better if ESO Plus would just have covered the Premium Pass (the middle one not Premium+) in its entirety, just being able to get 1 Season Pass for 12 months of ESO Plus is not fair treatment at all.

Totally agree. I have been a yearly eso plus subscriber for years. I feel shafted, and eso is becoming a shell of what it once was. For the investors, not the player. You know I am right ZoS.

    Agreed.

I don't necessarily mind a chore list in games. I often do endeavours and they can be fun (either the activities themselves or doing them with other people). Other times I get them just because they happen to tie into what I was doing anyway, and other times I skip them. But importantly they're free, and if I miss one set I can just do the next ones and eventually buy the same things. (Yes I know crown crates are only available temporarily and it takes ages to save up for the more expensive items, but they come back around sooner or later.) I don't have to predict which rewards I'll want and how much time I'll have to grind through a chorelist in advance and pay for the privilege of doing that.

However, ZOS need to make it VERY clear that an ESO Plus membership already includes the first tier of the Premium Tamriel Tomes. I saw a ton of people in the stream chat, and a few people in this thread, who don't understand that and think they're being asked to pay two separate subscriptions. I saw a lot of people complaining about having to pay US $30 a month from now on instead of the $15 a month they are accustomed to.

Big Simple Text on a website that we can point people at when they are confused, please!

I think you are mistaken on this.I went back and listened to the stream about this and heard nothing about the first tier of the Premium tomes is included in ESO+. I think both tiers are extra costs in addition to ESO +

I'm not infallible, but I'm sure that's what Susan said. It was said very quickly though, and I don't have the energy to go back through the stream. Either way, it's still quite unclear on the website. So whatever the situation is, it needs to be spelt out CLEARLY.

I liked the general thread of what's they have said is on the way.
Sad there doesn't seem to be a new zone, but hopefully the stories will be good enough to make up for it.
Loved what the one lady said about being a solo player. Hopefully that means she knows the roots of where the Elder Scrolls came from, and can influence the game a bit in that direction.

You lost me at Battlepass. COD: ESO is not what the players want. It is what Microsoft shareholders want.

Just as well the free option is there then, it seemed pretty extensive.

it will depend on how much pressure is placed on upgrading it. and what is exactly included in the free tier. have to wait and see.

Very disappointed in the move away from a persistent world. New areas that leave after the season ends are not what I want. Events within the world are ok. The persistent evolving world that exists forever is what has kept me here for years. I hope they revisit that part of the changes.

I very much liked what I saw/heard. Especially the QoL-changes. I don't mind the Season Pass model (I've always payed for chapters and ESO+, so I don't see much of a difference).

The main thing missing for me was a new PvE-story-driven zone, but I get that there are many, many changes coming to the game that require dev time, so a new zone probably wasn't viable. I do hope there's a plan in place to continue expanding the world and fill out blank spaces on the map.

I did find the info dump confusing at times, simply because there was so much information in such a short time. But I appreciate the new type of reveal stream. Less corporate marketing lingo and prepared videos and more straightforward communication. It did feel authentic and honest.

I've watched the part on ESO+ several times, and they definitely do not say that you get the the premium tier included, sadly. You just get credit for 1 seasons worth of the Premium+ tier when you have subbed to ESO+ for 12 months.

In return I want to highlight that the Night Market is the only new story or zone content mentioned in the announcement.

I'm aware the news articles vaguely allude to the possiblity that future seasons could sometimes include quests or zones, but beyond the survey mentioning some names there is no info at all about them. If you're a story focused player the only news currently is the Night Market which is effectively Writing Wall 2.0 - a few short quests available temporarily and then deleted from the game when the season ends.

But isn't it the only non-feature thing that was shown on the livestream ? Very cool sounding content (thieves guild, sheogorath, boats?) was mentioned but not explained, which is what I'm excited about usually. I think it would have been nice to have : content first, monetization after.

We saw a bunch of new ways to get cosmetics, but without showing us what actual content we will be doing to progress in the battlepass. From what I understood, in Season Zero, we will have a battlepass to progress with golden-pursuit-like objectives ("Finish 30 quests", "Kill 5 bosses", etc.) but without new content ? Will the Season Zero battlepass be all about the Night Market timed zone ? Since that's the only thing showed in the reveal
