Eidetic memory …

Why are we a few days off 2026 and we still don’t have an account wide Eidetic memory…

You promised us years ago you would get your act together regarding post quest locations for certain lorebooks in the game…. and still with every passing content drop there’s new lorebooks that are locked behind quests with no post quest location it’s mind blowing … just keep shalidors library character based and have the Eidetic memory account wide so if we miss a book during a quest we can still read it on another toon.

This is so so frustrating for so many people yet yall still haven’t added it and it’s such an integral part of the elder scrolls world.

Why isn’t this a priority? I’m no developer but I can’t see it being that hard to implement.

Constantly being a few books off a complete Eidetic memory every content drop is so frustrating.

Did you know there’s never been a single time in the games history where you could get every single lorebook in the game on one toon because some have either been bugged or locked behind quest progress with no added post quest location.

Criminal … just criminal.

I'll say the same thing I always say when this request is made. With over 5000 (6000?) books now, and with quite a few of them inaccessible after quests or bugged for some reason (as in, can't pick them up or they're not where they're supposed to be, but another toon can get them), it's time to make this account-wide.

This should have been done a long time ago, I have a bugged book in eidetic memory on almost every character, support always gives the answer "pick it up on another character". This is one of the few things that made me stop actively playing ESO.

We all know why they won’t make it account-wide. It’s easy to make players spend 30+ hours fetching these things, and then point at it and say, “Look at how much play time our players invest in the game!” That’s why mount training takes so long, why some of the maps are designed the way they are, and why you can't even find lorebooks in the first place unless you stumble across them or download an addon.

In a semi-related rant, can we untie progression in the Mage’s Guild skill line from these damn books? Yes, I know it’s to get people to pay crowns to unlock the line on other toons, but come on. The fact that doing the actual Mage’s Guild questline doesn't give you progress in the Mage’s Guild skill line is criminal.

As much as I prefer things to be character-side and think that too much has been sent account-wide already…

This is the one exception I’ll make. Eidetic Memory should 100% be account based.

How much data is this even, holding that entire checklist by character? Isn’t that data better used holding literally anything else? We’re in a world where map completion is tracked by account, making some fun achievements and events like the Skyrim Giant Cheese and Solstice pools once-ever, but we are sure to make sure that every character individually needs to read that one obscure tombstone in Bloodroot.
