[CRAFTING] Question about Crown Motifs, Outfits, Styles, and Alt Toons

I recently grabbed the "Crown Crafting Motif 73: Anequina Style" from the store, which I redeemed on my primary crafter. Later the same day, one of my alts received a page for the same style motif, which was marked as learnable. Checking through, I see that the outfit style is unlocked account-wide, but the crafting style is only unlocked on the character "reading" the gold book. Which seems a little absurd on face value, but I guess that's what happens when you pile newer systems on top of older systems...

Which leads to my question: Is it worth taking a style page that your primary master crafter character already knows, and also learning it on a secondary one? As far as I can see, this would only make a significant difference if you wanted to increase the chance of master crafting writs dropping as rewards across multiple characters doing daily crafting writs. Is that correct?

Basically, I'm just trying to figure out if I should use the single page on my secondary, or look to sell/trade it. Any pros/cons to think about?

You have the thinking right, there is limited use to knowing the motif on an alt character /unless/ you want to use them to be able to craft items in that style or as you mention have a greater chance of master writs dropping. I know some people who try to learn motifs on alts, but I have never seen the attraction personally and only learn on my main crafter and sell doubles.

It’s an older style, so the motif pages don’t cost a lot in traders, which means you can’t sell them for much. I typically just pass these down to alts to learn, and only sell the most recent motif pages when I can get more than 10k or more each for them.

Keep in mind, that in order to increase your chances of master writ drops, you would need to learn all 14 pages of that style on the alternate character.
The Unshattered - Tenacious Dreamer - Hurricane Herald - Godslayer - Dawnbringer - Gryphon Heart - Tick Tock Tormenter - Immortal Redeemer - Dro-m'Athra Destroyer
The Unchained - The Brilliant - Moth Trusted - The Just - Oathsworn - Bedlam's Disciple - Temporal Tempest - Curator's Champion - Fist of Tava - Invader's Bane - Land, Air, and Sea Supremacy - Zero Regrets - Battlespire's Best - Bastion Breaker - Ardent Bibliophile - Subterranean Smasher - Bane of Thorns - True Genius - In Defiance of Death - No Rest for the Wicked - Nature's Wrath - Undying Endurance - Relentless Raider - Depths Defier - Apex Predator - Pure Lunacy - Mountain God - Leave No Bone Unbroken - CoS/RoM/BF/FH Challenger

Currently the best option seems to be swapping older motif pages with guild mates who find themselves in a similar situation. Appreciate all the comments, though!

Whenever I get a motif style page that my main already knows, I stick it in the bank and cycle through my alts to see if any of them hasn't learned it yet. If everyone knows it, I usually stick it in a guild bank.

I've never bought a motif from the Crown Store, but I wouldn't expect it to be learned as a crafting style on all characters, just on the character who uses it, since that's how motif styles obtained outside of the Crown Store have always worked.

That is true, I hope that they will add up and get whole motifs eventually. In the meantime, it is the method with least effort involved.

I think I'm more puzzled as to why we actually have two different versions of essentially the same thing in the first place, but it is what it is. The style motif books are one of the things in the crown store I spend seals on, but I always have to remind myself to only do this with my master crafter.
