New "New Life" quests

For the most part they are fine. There are two of them that left me head scratching as to how to proceed. I ended up looking online for instructions on what to do. That is when I discovered that the addon I have to give better control over how quests are displayed in the tracker, shifts more detailed information to a tooltip. So, if the base UI gives an indication of what to do, then that is fine.

The issue I have with these quests is that there wasn't a pre-defined action to be triggered by an on-screen prompt. I don't collect emotes. I don't use emotes. I have one or two benign ones on the quick wheel solely for the days that endeavors are awarded for using X number of emotes. I had no idea what ones would work in these situations. Furthermore, one either has to type in the slash command or assign the emote to the emote wheel to get it to count. It was frustrating to say the least.

Perhaps, in the future, if player agency is desired for something like this, bring up a dialog box with choices as to which viable ones to select.

And are we supposed to be able to get all the quests at once?

The official announcement stated that you could keep talking to get them all, so yes:
A new reveler at the festival tent, Anicus Novius, offers all the new additions. What’s more, if you continue to speak with Anicus at the event grounds, you can pick up all eight of his quests at the same time—celebrate New Life with new convenience!

It's an oddity of the quest system. Hints are shown if you have the quest interface on in the HUD, but the same hints are not shown in the Journal.

I thought the new quests were OK. There were a couple that had little used game components in them so that was interesting. All in all nothing really groundbreaking, but I appreciate the effort to give us new content.

The only one I've done so far is about bringing food to the elderly. That was nice. I wish I could have given him all four baked potatoes.

On the whole, I like the new quests. They require a lot more running around than the old ones, but they were generally very well done and fit with the theme of New Life. A couple of observations/suggestions, however.

First, and this is not something unique to New Life, could something please be done about player visual effects? I'm sure all of this went OK on PTS, but when you've got several dozen players mobbing around an NPC with their pets, companions, mounts, summonses, and whatnot, it's a visual nightmare. Trying to find the NPC in a sea of nameplates is often like looking for a needle in a haystack, even with the quest marker to help, and then all the flashy-flashy (and sound effects) while trying to follow the conversation... it's not a great experience.

For the Mudman quest in Grahtwood, an NPC quest marker after collecting the mud would be helpful. Again, trying to find the NPC in that sea of nameplates, companions, pets, summonses, and the like is hard enough with a quest marker, but doubly so without.

Aside from those two, the quests moved along very well. I went in forewarned about minor problems with emotes on a couple of those quests and didn't hit those, so it was a very nice hour or so (I wasn't sprinting, recalling, or using my mount for 90%+ of it). As Ember might say, "nicely done!"
I'm fresh out of outrage, but I could muster up some amused annoyance if required.
