Is ZOS cutting back on animation memory just to add crown crate animations at this point?

Honestly, we've gotten these "virtually unnoticeable" changes to animations in the game to "save memory for other things" but all I'm seeing is broken existing animations followed by more crown crate animations for us to gamble on. I don't know what the issue is, whether it be old tech holding back development or what, but how much cannibalization is going to happen in order to make more gambled emotes, recalls, etc?

How long can ZOS keep this up before irrevocably breaking everything? And when will broken animations be addressed as another attempt falling short of the mark like the entire event for this year?

Come on, ZOS. I want to be believe in you here.

I'm hoping it's not, even as much as I like emotes. It's about time that they make combat animations and not take combat away so we can have a dance we look at once and then never again.

I was getting a bit hopeful that the animation changes, particularly how they were forced through despite feedback and bugs, were because they had to land because of a new Class - when they made Arcanist, they did say they needed to do a lot of backend things to save RAM for older hardware, but now I'm thinking that most of this is to take account for the new animations they're going to use for the Class refresh - which would make sense why it was shoved out this patch if we're already getting the DK changes in U49.

Still, if they're at the point where they need to make the current game worse in order to conserve RAM, it may be high time to consider upping the minimum requirements for RAM... which would end up asking them to be sunsetting old hardware.

    I can understand your pov.

At the same time, combat and emoticons are two completely different things performance-wise. Emoticons won't change anything on the performance issues we may have during combat. And will also have less effect on gameplay for players.

I do however support any request to solve performance issues and that it should be a major focus of the dev team.

Exactly. They put everything into the crown store and barely anything into the actual game. It honestly makes me happy knowing that someday I’ll be uninstalling this. BG is still a joke, nothing changed, no improvements, no updates, no proper role drafting system like every other team-based PvP. And the new team won’t do anything about it either. Nothing is changing, it’s the same false promises over and over again. 10 years is enough. Imagine having no anti-cheat for over a decade. Sure, there are bans, but they’re rare. everything just sucks , too overpriced, the price tag doesnt match the value given , its lame and outdated also bug abuser everywhere lmao clean up wen zos ?

I don't even understand how these new animations are supposed to conserve memory.

There is no way that the cosmetic bloat in ESO is not negatively impacting performance.
