[REQUEST] Toggle on/off slow pace/accelerated pace when walking/riding

There are speed buffs available from skills/cp tree and probably passives.

When they are active you no longer can ride in the walking pace. Even when toggling the walk/run switch key it still looks like a half sprint.

Now this is completely not what I want when I play rpg style which requires NOT to run here and there. But then it really looks awefull.

I have already tried untieng the corresponding cp tree points from the cp bar but while the speed was slower, the animation remained the same.

Meh.

So please give us the possibility to switch on/off the walking animation! For rpg sake. Please!

Might be the on/off nature of using a keyboard. Personally I play with a controller on the PC, you can literally walk in sl0ow motion.

Not exactly a 'fix', but it you have a controller.. try it?

That does work, and you're right that it's because keyboard keys are a 'digital' input (either on or off), unlike an analogue thumbstick where you can push it only slightly forward to go slower than the top speed.

But knowing that's the problem and that it is possible for the game to register slower speeds it would be nice to have some other options when using keyboard and mouse. I don't want to use a controller for ESO, but I do want to be able to ride at less than top speed sometimes.

One way I've seen other games do it is instead of (or as well as) just having a walk toggle there's a button to cycle through several different speeds. So you start out at your maximum speed and if you push the button you slow down a bit, push it again you slow down a bit more, until you hit the slowest possible speed, then pushing it again goes back up to full speed.

It's still not as smooth as using a thumbstick, but it's a lot better than what we currently have.

Yes, I dislike that random speed increase. It doesn't seem to have any logic to it and I don't understand what triggers it. It looks like I am running in slow motion. I don't think it's actually any faster.

They could just introduce another level on the same run/walk toggle. One that sets speed to base walking speed after buff calculation (this is the one we need / should not affect debuff calc otherwise it could be used for exploits), the current one that sets speed to base walking speed before modifiers (unclear why this exists in the first place), and back to normal.
