Getting dismounted in water outside Seabloom Villa

Every time I step in shallow water outside Seabloom Villa I get dismounted. Yet I can take a few steps into deeper water and mount up fine. This screenshot shows the spot this happens.

✭✭✭✭✭It because that small patch of shallow water is inside the WB's arena just next to it. Not all WB arenas are like that (no idea why some are), but you'll be dismounted anywhere within the radius of where the boss spawns regardless from which side you approach.
The fact that you happen to be in water where it happened to you is just a coincidence. If you ride up the footpath on land towards the arena you'll be dismounted as well.

✭✭✭✭✭I wasn't anywhere near the boss, nor did I receive aggro from him. And I don't remember ever dismounting in this spot before, even before mount swimming.PCNA0 -

It's an inside/outside thing. You can't ride indoors. There have been a lot of discrepancies in the way areas are flagged for a while.
IC is probably the best example of this. Riding underneath a broken walkway will dismount you even though nothing is technically above you, because the whole span of the walkway, including the broken part, is flagged as indoors.
Edit:
The area outlined in red is the shape of the ruins, which have an indoor flag. If you try to mount in there you'll get a "Can't mount here" notification. It shouldn't be flagged as indoors but they are probably using the same base parameters for the ruin as they are for a non-ruin of the same type.
For whatever reason, the flagged area continues in a little spike which is what keeps dismounting you, @SilverBride

The only time I use this route is when I've recalled to the house to get to a survey that is nearby. I'll try to avoid it next time, or not mount up until I'm past it. But it would be nice if they fixed this.

Yeah, it's not the WB per se, but that the ruins it is in that are counted as "indoors" - even though you are clearly not.
A simple example: When Solstice first released, there was a bridge outside you could ride over. However there was a tiny stone arch over one end of it - it was flagged as indoors, and so you'd get dismounted as soon as you rode under it.
They did fix this, but there are a myriad of places remaining unfixed. You just happen to have found one. Your prize is extra infuriation at now knowing why, and knowing how silly it is.
