When trying to find the hidden cache, Herat is making reference to a letter (the clue for puzzle sequence needed), but there is no such letter anywhere in the hut or the lost village.
Anyone got any idea what the puzzle sequence is, or, is this a hit button and hope you eventually get a successful combination?
(I feel this is [yet another] bug as letter should appear/be readable)

The clue letter is readable, you just looked in the wrong place. It was in your inventory, under ‘quest items’, and can be read from there.
This was explained to you before you left to go there, though it is easily missed. For this reason is why, at least for my first playthrough of a quest, I listen to all npc dialogue carefully for any clues I may need.

BoloBoffin✭✭✭✭✭Yes, the letter is in the quest items section of your inventory.
However, I had this quest break in another place, closer to the end. When you're going to shut down the two inactive flayer sites, I went first to the eastern site, then the western site. At both, you have two flayers to shut off and then an item to find. When I finished the western site, I was told to go back to the eastern site. I did, and had to shut down the two flayers there again... but this time the letter to find was no longer appearing. Nothing but dropping the quest and starting again worked here.
Also, Skordo is being very bad in this quest as well. He's supposed to help you at the western site and I heard a couple of dialogue lines... but he's not there in body. Raz does show up at the eastern site. As always, YMMV.Now let's dig on the Dirt Mound... (never gonna get it, never gonna get it, NEEEEver gonna get it, never gonna it)1 -
