Controller input delay on PC when using Gamepad "automatic" mode

When playing with a controller on PC - both through Steam and not - I have to press each skill button twice to get it to actually work. Has been a problem since early 2024, after a patch (don't recall which one). Stupid thing is, I press the button once eg Shadow Cloak, interact with a container, press Shadow Cloak again and then it works.

There's an additional delay too, since I think early this year, with having controller input set to "automatic" - it can be up to a second, depending on what I'm doing, eg just moving, swapping bars etc.
I use the "automatic" setting so that I can easily switch between the controller and KB/M. I know it won't happen if I switch to just controller, but that UI is really awful compared to the PC UI. And the bigger point is that I shouldn't have to; it never used to be a problem.

Edit: I have had a look through Patch notes but have been unable to pinpoint after which patches these issues started occurring.

    Update:
I recently had an issue that, amongst other things, had disabled all my Add ons. I was made to agree in game before I could reenable them. This meant that all of my Add on settings were lost, and I had to reset everything. Which took hours :|

In the course of resetting, I found that it was Bandits that was causing the controller input issues - since I uninstalled that, I can't say there's absolutely no input delay as there is still a slight delay - but I no longer have to push buttons twice to get skills to fire.

I hope this is of some help to anyone else experiencing this problem.

I use Bandit's UI with both Xbox One wireless and Flydigi Vader 3 Pro controllers without many issues. I can say that the Xbox brand adapter does seem to perform better than my wireless bluetooth dongle (I think one of them died after 5+ years of use). I switched it out for my old xbox dongle since I mainly use a Flydigi and it has it's own dongle which performs really well.

If you use controllers on PC the addon Bugcatcher is almost a must have, it made my life so much better without the UI popups. I also setup a UI toggle on my num pad, along with other addon commands. But I use controller most of the time, just a few things like inventory management I toggle for addons that don't fully support it and using trade merchant stuff.

Yes, I do use Bugcatcher but still had the aforementioned issues with controller input delay. And since removing Bandits, I no longer have the problem. shrug
