If we need to Abandon a Bugged Quest, please just take it back One Step

Hunt for the Great Mage is bugged if it's not done in a certain order, which is not made clear in the quest log. The only way to complete it and continue the story is to drop the quest and pick it up again. The problem is that this does not just drop that phase of the quest but takes us all the way back to the start of the quest.

If we need to abandon a quest due to a bug or any other reason, please just take it back one step so we don't have to repeat the whole thing again.

    I've had to abandon two quests in Solstice lately, including the main quest line. Now I don't know where to find the quest givers and I'm so frustrated with all the bugs in Solstice that I'd rather just be bitter about it than go back and try to figure it out. I'll wait for a couple patches and then try again. Hopefully they'll get some of the bugs worked out by then.

    If they are not at the Main camp (where the event quests were) try just north of the Gristmung Hold Camp Wayshrine (its a tiny camp with a fire and a couple of tents), or just South-East of the Mor Naril Camp Wayshrine (the big Stirk camp)

    I recently learned that we can open the zone guide and there is an option to continue the story quest that shows where the quest giver is in the map.

    right before the thread gets buried on 2nd page :)

    And I think it's The Hunt of the Great Mage I too had to abandon recently, so this happens*
