Forum bug when looking at Drafts

I am getting this strange screen when I try to look at my drafts.

Yes - I just cleared my drafts and it looked just like that.

My guess is that vanilla pushed something that wasn't "finished". They're very well known for that sort of thing.

This is definitely a bug, and I suspect there's an extra, or missing `<` in the page source somewhere. If you look at your image, the grey vertical text is actually style markup to tell the browser how some part of this page should look. You should never actually see this stuff unless (on a desktop) you right click and "View Source" or similar.

So, someone messed up the background markup.

Usually this is a 10 second fix, yet here we are

Discourse is worse and super laggy filled with bugs beyond measure, I wish video game companies would stop using that software. I'm glad vanilla is a on the top 3 best forum softwares to use. It has very quick loading times, no lag, and hardly any bugs. It's also easier to use and better set up. These bugs that come across are temporary and may take some time to fix. The most common bugs I see here are the once in a while formatting glitches which can easily be patched. No forum software is perfect.

We are not sure yet. We have reported this to Vanilla and they have confirmed this issue is happening. They have notified us that they are working on a solution, but we do not have control of that. We have to wait on them. We will escalate again, but fixing it is out of our hands at the moment.

It's been almost 3 months since this bug appeared. I am not sure why Vanilla hasn't come up with a fix yet. I guess it is just going to stay like this and I will try to stop caring.

This bug is still here almost 6 months later. I realize that only Vanilla can fix it but it's really surprising how long it's taking.

Re-Formatted Code to show the <div> </div> elements:

Line 162 in the formatted being Line 153 in the origianl code is an extra </div> that shouldn't be there.
Time take to find: ~30 seconds
Estimated time to fix: ~5 seconds

I'd strongly suggest not paying them the next invoice.

@ZOS_Kevin Since the problem is identified and a solution given, is this something that can be fixed or do we have to wait for Vanilla? Because 6 months is a very long time for this to continue, with no end in sight.
