Suggest some sets

For my second account, I'm considering a month of ESO+, which will unlock places, and I am thinking I should plan to get some armor. It's rather time consuming to look for sets, not that fun to use a guide and they tend to hav things like trial gear. I'm thinking of 'good sets from crafting or dungeons for general solo/normal and vet dungeon/maybe a little bit of trial'.

One char is a dragonknight who uses only axes, who has fallen into a role of axe/shield tank. If any sets are for axes, they would be top of the list.

Two other chars are mainly lightning sorcerers. One is a warden who multi-classed lightning magic for the pet line. Sets that boost lightning would get preference.

So far I have the elemental catalyst set to get from Stone Garden dungeon.

Order's Wrath and Tide-Born Windstalker are two strong craftable damage sets. Those two are better than most dungeon sets. Some strong dungeon sets are Aegis Caller and Pillar of Nirn. Azureblight is still good, but only for mobs.

Those sets are commonly used by DDs to do normal trials and vet trials like HRC and AA. But the reality is that sets will not turn you into a world beater for vet DLC dungeons or harder vet trials. Learning mechanics and experience will. And getting non-perfected gear is fine.

Last note, Elemental Catalyst is not a good set for solo or group DDs. Its made for specialized support builds for 12 man content.

Tzogvin's Warband is an amazing SOLO set. Comes from Frostvault, I believe.
Kinra's Wrath from Black Drake Villa is also a damage option for a Solo build, since Major Berserk is hard to come by when you are alone. If you have a build where you stack percentage damage, this is almost a no brainer.
As a DK that focuses on Flame Damage, I'd recommend Burning Spellweave.

In the SOLO context you'll sometimes have lower crit chance than is good. Here Mora's Whispers comes into focus and really goes a long way. Better than other Mythics.

Thanks for the comments. Burning spellweave is light dps armor that doesn't seem to fit the lightning sorcerer or DK tank?

Weapon plus Jewelry is 5 pieces. Even one piece on the body (if you want to use a mythic on one jewelry slot) is okay, because of the undaunted passives.

For a DPS character, Macabre's Vintage is a great set for clearing trashmobs. I basically run this + seargants mail on my heavy attack build for clearing normal and vet dungeons very quickly. My char still hits acceptably high DPS (over 80k) and can clear trash mob packs in a hurry.

Thanks BXR. I'll take a look.

Knight-Errant looks good for tanks, and I like Ebon when I looked a long time ago.

Veteran dungeon tanks use debuff/group support sets. Tanks can use "training wheel" sets as they get used to tanking, mainly that give you stamina or magicka return (but not stamina recovery, which is disabled while blocking)—you should generally have enough armor and health already without sets. DLC dungeons are considerably more difficult, but fun and rewarding.

If you do make a dungeon tank, you might want to use your free armory slots to have a dungeon tank build and a questing/world boss build that deals more damage.

Using a 2-handed weapon backbar is best for tanking dungeons and trials, because of the bigger enchantment. Frost Staff is typically best, but Two-handed or Bow can work, too. You then slot the ground-AoE effect (Wall of Elements, Charge, Arrow Hail), and your backbar enchantment is always active even when you switch bars.

Anyway, have fun! Maybe try running pledges with a guild and see how it goes (for normal, all you need is a taunt lol).

Thanks tsae. I've not liked using a backbar. Just prefer to keep it simple and fun. Good comments though. I'm just looking for some good sets for the above, and am about to make some.

More and more I tend to use tanks only for dungeons, instead of having a second build for dps. That's even more temping for healers, who are not good at solo, so I tend to use them only for dungeons also. Companions help both a little for solo.

I did a bit of research with Google AI, and found some some sets that somewhat fit the theme for lightning sorcerer.

    Monolith of Storms from IA
    Storm-Cursed's Revenge from Shipwright's Regret
Auroran's Thunder from Depths of Malatar
    Overwhelming Surge from Tempest Island
    Mad Tinkerer's from Clockwork City

Of those Monolith of Storms looks promising but a headache to get, Mad Tinkerer's set looks fun and relatively easy to get.

I haven't found anything linked to axes and tanking, so it looks like just looking for decent tanking.

Having said that the generic damage sets like Pillar of Nirn look interesting. Aegis is for 'martial melee' DPS,
