I'm saying this with all the love I still have for this game:
I returned to the game after almost 3 years of absence, after hearing about the subclassing. Was interested. Tried, was ok by me, the classes are fine as they are imo. Found my old guild and decided to stick around for a while with the mates. I didn't buy the new pass, just looking around. I got my ESO+ (bc lets face it, it is a must if you do daily writs like I do, with 18 char.

), and went to see what had I missed. Then this event rolls in. BUY BUY BUY it is an AMAZING event. Once in a lifetime. Grand community thingie! Be part of history!!
I thought, well, never had any that kind of experiences. It actually sounds interesting: 3 different stages, variety of tasks, big grand finale in the end! BUY BUY BUY! So fine, I believe you, lets do this.
Long story short. It felt like you offered a cake, and then slapped on the cheek with a raw fish. Not just with this, but others too, like with Oakensoul. As a disabled person, I was more than thrilled I could manage with one bar with the content I was playing. I bought the chapter just to get the ring. Then 12 completely renewed builds later, next patch - you nerfed it into oblivion. (this was when the gold mats were super expensive) That's when I left.
It is such a shame really, bc I do like this game, and I like the communities I play this game with. I have put almost 6000 hours in this game, and way too much money. If in the end I am feeling like I have been cheated or used as a milk cow by the devs, what is the goal? Where is this game going? To whom is this game for? Are you exited of the direction ESO is going? New mmos are in the horizon, how do you plan on keeping your playerbase? (genuine questions, not angry shaking fist like)
/sidenote
(My friend started to play ESO when I returned. He was very interested, had left WoW and needed a new home, so he bought the game. Soon noticed needed ESO+ not to be drowned with loot. After spending all that money realized, gotta still put money in, to get the merchant/banker so the exploration is not frustrating as heck. When you are in the beginning you need all the resources, and can't really tell what is important to keep and what not when you are almost at the end of a dungeon with full bags. He felt fooled and used. He was so gutted that just didn't bother to play again, and I can't blame him)
There is so many things wonky with ESO, like many ppl have said, but we are still here, there is sooo much good things in it too. We want this game to thrive, draw in new players and just make Tamriel full of life and adventures!
Please: Listen to your customers, watch your content creators to see what (and how) people are actually talking about ESO and learn.
Don't be afraid to re-evaluate your decisions if the majority is saying they don't work.
Give us stability, and don't switcheroo things every 3 months or so.
Make the game easier to start, less greedy (if a person has already bought the game, 80 euros if getting premium, and is subbing on top of that, please just give them a hecking merchant) and ditch the gamble boxes and gems. Why not just have straight honest crown store, where you can get all the nice cosmetics you want with crowns?
We understand you gotta get the money from somewhere and believe me, we are happy to support a game that we love, but only if it loves us back.
