There's basically nothing more honorable in online (or any other...) discourse than the ability to say that you were mistaken or have changed your mind based upon new information and experiences.

I haven't participated in the event but I think that you have made a noble post.

Thank you for your kind words. I was stuck on a couple of quests that frustrated me no end but once i figured out the issue and it was a me issue not a game bug, i was able to really enjoy myself.Gave you an awesome.

@Recent, kudos to you, and a big agree from me. I feel very much the same way about my own reactions to Phase 3.

At first I wasn't enjoying Phase 3 at all due to every instance of the Writhing Fortress being bugged in one way or another, plus I had no idea what I should be doing and couldn't make sense of what the NPCs were telling us to do. I started to feel rather negatively about Phase 3.

But once I started to find working instances and was able to experience different sides of each stage-- i.e., east wing versus west wing, as well as the places where one group can go one way and another group can go a different way to work together at solving a given problem-- then everything started clicking into place, and now I'm having a lot of fun running through the Writhing Fortress on different characters.
I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!

I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve read a post like this in over 10 years of reading these forums so you get an awesome from me too! ☺️

The first two phases were bad, and nothing has happened to update my assessment on that.

Phase 3, the Writhing Fortress, once I finally got into a working instance, was pretty great.

I just hope interest in it stays high enough that it's still completable at the end of the event. I imagine it, like the Camps, doesn't scale to the number of players present (the Camps are more of a disaster than ever now), and I'd hate to think of people trying to slog through the Fortress while undermanned.

I was dreading doing it on my second character, but because I did the public dungeon part before I started the main quest, I didn't have to do it again on that character. After I killed the boss, where Minimarco was trying to repair the wall, I completed it and fired the lantern to destroy the wall.

Thank you @Recent for bringing this positive thread.

I was pretty negative about the first phases. Not so much what the quests were but how it was the same every day and only a very short quest to transition from Phase 1 to Phase 2. And the progress felt so slow that it broke my desire to participate.

So I was pleasantly surprised by how much I am enjoying Phase 3. At first I only planned to do the Writhing Fortress on a couple of my characters but ended up doing it on all 7. It feels much better to have more positive things to say now.

I finally got around to running this a second time and it was much better knowing more what I needed to be doing and not getting left behind in the lower level. I even got to fight both bridge bosses. I also got a chance to see the ballista section before the last boss this time, it was cool but I still have one gripe. The interaction for the ballista parts seems to be shared, I was either unable to pick them up or when I repaired the ballista, another player always jumped in instead. I never got a chance to fire one.

Still, you could look around and see everyone fighting and working together and it worked well.
