Positive Writhing Fortress Feedback

I was one of the lucky ones. This is not to negate any of the criticism, but I thought it fair that they hear this also.

When the writhing fortress opened, I was there waiting in a four man group of guild friends. We were plunged into a new zone full of awesome sights. We watched most of the zone head west, so we thought we’d take the path less traveled, we figured we’d get a better experience not following the Zerg. It was a great choice.

Wave after wave came at us and I was delighted to find my rushing agony tank build was not only needed but thriving as I stacked piles of them for the damage dealers to melt. For most of it, it was my group and one or two others helping us. A few more once too and bottom converged.

Me and my friends chatted, laughed, thought through the dynamic of bridges and gates and crystals all while killing at a blistering pace. We few kept pace and we’re only moments behind the Zerg wing such that we got to experience the central path also. We experienced not one bug and was there as the very first XBox NA, placed hands on the fortress core and opened eastern Solstice, I think I was third to touch it, would have to check the video.

I’m not trying to white night for ZOS here. But I think it’s fair they at least get to hear from one of the very few who actually got to experience what they intended.

It might be my favorite single gaming memory. It was fabulous, and I’m so thankful I got to do it with close guildies.

Don’t stop trying to do things like this.

I ran it twice back to back, so as to do both sides.

I was in the first wave (and solo'd much of the Western side as everyone else went East). I had no issues.

Sadly I don't know anyone in my circle of friends who didn't have issues.

That has tainted the experience for me somewhat.

Sure. And their contrition is warranted. But somewhere in their studio is a few people who are very distraught that what they poured their hearts into has gone so wrong. And for whatever comfort it’s worth, I want them to know somebody got to experience it exactly how they intended. And it was freaking awesome.

I've run it repeatedly on different characters, and each time has been a different experience for me, in fact some of the runs have been crazy, chaotic and confusing but strangely fun! Upon reflection I've really enjoyed the experience and want each of my 20 characters to give it a go. Happily and most recently, no character deaths too, mainly due to finally getting to understand what I am supposed to be doing, listening out for instructions from Skordo and Walks and seeing a big light go over my head, as in 'OH, that's what we need to do!' A huge thank you to all concerned with the creation of the fortress and beyond.

    Depeche Mode

The Veiled Sermon of the Pathless Shrine.

Oh Ithelia, White Star, Mistress of our Road yet Untravelled,
Of sight through tears, my path untaken sings to you, for you are my chorus.
Grant me the courage to defy what has become.
To walk paths that were never meant to be.

I remember the dreams that died in silence.
The choices never allowed to make.
Roads that shimmered just beyond reach.

You are the patron of the unchosen.
    The sanctuary of the almost.
The whisper in my heart that cries, there is another way.

    This is my heresy.
    This is my prayer.
    This, my offering:
A life to be lived in defiance of destiny.

In your name, forgotten, but not lost,
    I choose the pathless.
