I like the Daedric War event, but I'm worn out too. I'll get my tickets and ignore it otherwise.

I just moved on after doing the WF, maybe just craft writs there and finish up the Solstice quest line.

Part 1 and 2 wore me down a lot.

This is alwats among the replies when people complain about event fatigue and it misses the point of both events and the complaints.
It's not that your advice is bad or incorrect, if someone isn't enjoying things then they should reconsider why they are even doing that thing. It can be events in eso, or playing eso itself, or reading these forums, or most anything in life. There are things in life we have no choice over but in the context of eso we do. So yes everything is optional.

But, as I said, that's not the point. Optional is the safety net because nothing can ever please everyone, but if "it sucks but at least it's optional" is the response of a large number of people to something intended to engae most people then something is wrong. ESO's events are time limited and intended to be rewarding and clearly intended and designed to have players interested and excited to engage.with them. It is fair criticiam to tell ZOS when they are failing at one, or more, of those goals because they are not only failing the players but also themselves. Why spend time and effort creating events that people don't enjoy? It doesn't serve the players and it doean't serve ZOS if the point of events is to get people to log in and play more if that isn't what happens.

I don't know if that is the case, of course. It is the case for me, and for many of the people I talk to in and around the game who either don't participate or do the minimum to get tickets, but maybe that's my biased sample. Maybe there are a bunch of people for whom events are an enjoyable part of their eso experience. If so they too should feel free to chime in, not by telling others to be quiet but by expressing their own viewpoint.

To express my own: The very first time I did eso events I was confused and missed out on a bunch because while there may be articles explaining things the in game explanations were lacking. Once I figured things out events were engaging enough, though a bit repetitive. The more I play eso the less engaging and more repetitive these events feel. Doing dailies for boxes of loot most of which I already have isn't much fun. This is not much of an issue with regular permanent content because I can take a break and engage with whichever content interests me at any given time. But with events there are tickets and style pages which are just enough to encourage participation but not enough to make the experience feel satisfying. It leaves me pondering why I spend my time doing this.

I personally would like fewer events with tickets that last nearly 2 weeks. I think zone events should instead be weekend mini event features with double drops. Rewarding and encouraging to participate for those who want to without the exclusive rewards that make people feel like they need to.
Something like
Weekend 1 PVP+ BGs double AP
Weekend 2 Zone event double drops
Weekend 3 Dungeon double drops
Weekend 4 Systems mini event (double xp, thieving event, crafting event, ToT, companions, Jesters etc)
Everyone gets a bit of something every month, but you don't feel bad skipping them because there's nothing exclusive and the general thing will be back again soon.

Then have anniversary, witches and new life as the yearly events with the ticket rewards scaled to match.

Is it though? Is it really optional?

Events are the number one ingame resource for reliable and reasonable distribution of non irl currency based collectibles and skins. The release of which is both time gated and seasonal.

Event Tickets are capped, event tickets are only available during events, there is ONE event each year where you can make up for missing or skipping a prior one, and not enough Tickets in said event to make up for skipping the entire year's worth of events.

The best you can do is save 12 Tickets for the next event and hope its enough.

IF event tickets were uncapped, or we could redeem endeavors for them I think your point would be more valid, but all skipping one does is pressure you to use crowns to get them.

And ya occasionally we get pursuits, can save endeavors, and daily login rewards, but those are rarer than events.

I can handle events as they normally go - provided the drop rates of the “new reward” like the style page is reasonable (i.e. guaranteed in the gold box). That means people who want to can just do one and done, but people who want to farm all the double drops and purple boxes can also do so. It does feel reasonable to do as much or as little as you want.

And then there’s the Wall event: much longer, disrupts the basegame zones, terrible drop rates of exclusive rewards, old rewards competing with new ones, literal trash in other boxes, super rare jackpot, and a PR campaign that essentially says “If you’re not grinding 24/7, you are letting your server down!”

That’s the difference.

I’m actually looking forward to the event since my Maormer does need the Summerset bosses and my half-Altmer needs to get her CWC stuff for her story. These events make it easy to go back to old zones and get for-fun alts their zone completions.

This isn't exactly correct. Take the Halloween event, for instance. Every single boss I fought, be it a World Boss, or in a Delve, or Dolmen, or Dungeon, or Public Dungeon etc., dropped coffers that filled my bag with stuff I had already gotten from the many Halloween events of previous years. Technically I could just right click and delete the coffers, but that is still having to deal with a lot of inventory I was being given without trying to actively participate.

I think we should be given a toggle to opt out completely of any event we have no interest in, and not have inventory we didn't seek, etc. forced on us.

I was unaware that event participation was mandatory. Silly me; I'll try to remember to put reading memos on my to-do list in the future.

As far as Daedric War goes, I don't think there are any motifs from those zones where I'm missing chapters and will have a chance to get them from event coffers. AFAIK, none of the three zones' daily coffers have cooldowns like the post-Elsweyr ones, so farm away if that floats your boat. None of the zones drop anything like Nirncrux and I'm definitely not hurting for any other mats, so the double-harvest isn't appealing. I expect that I'll snag my golden coffer(s) and tickets and then go back to doing whatever that character was doing. Since I have already collected the Vvardenfell model, Precursor, and Fan of False Face items, there's not even a need to do the museum quests.

It's not event fatigue as much as it is that I've been playing long enough that I'm unlikely to pick up anything that I strongly want/need other than the tickets. On a side note, all characters have (finally) finished their Dremora and Hollowjack motifs, so even Witches won't get much more than a "grab tickets and git" level of participation next year.

I'm looking forward to getting tickets for the Wildgrown Chapel.

Also, not everyone was able to participate in the fun parts of the WW event.

The way I do events is: I get tickets for stuff I cannot buy from guild vendors, then I buy the rest of the stuff from guild vendors.

It is a more profitable use of my time to sell things on the vendor and use those funds to buy things, rather than farming events for things.

I find too many events annoying, but also I like that there are crowds if I want to attend them.

Dude I'm old, comparatively, early 40s. I really don't understand when I see people talking about hating a couple extra clicks. It just seems weird to me. But to each their own.

I love events! The more the better in my opinion.
