3rd day of - full - quest completion on a character without a single bone fragment... ZOS im open - if I have to torture myself through this horrible boring slog of an event and CANT EVEN get the collectibles I will loose it - this event for me has been the worst eso experience since the beta... if this is the future of the game...good night

On my main account I am doing the three gold boxes and the crafting dailies on all my characters(16), as of this evening I have now dropped at least one of each of the new for phase 2 furnishing plans..... I have multiple Puddles of Wax.

I've been doing this for three days...... I have 13 Writhing Bone Fragment total! :(

My partner and I have managed, working in tandem, to put together a single stack of 25 Writhing Bone Shards for the Caltrops Skill Style since Phase 2 of The Writhing Wall began. I encouraged my partner to learn it once we got it, because he actually uses the skill regularly on one of his favorite characters and I don't use the skill much. So he got to learn it last night.

I have been doing 97 Writhing Wall Daily Quests every day spread between my 15 characters, and he has been doing 67 Dailies on his 10 characters. We've been primarily targeting the Crafting Dailies on alts to save time and sanity during this slog, while also trying to help our server unlock our paid content.

So, to put together the Skill Style ***ONE TIME*** we've had to do: 164 Writhing Wall Event Daily Quests every single day since Phase 2 started, on a total of 25 characters - and get lucky of course.

That seems excessive. Like... that seems very purposefully put out of reach of the average player. Which is a sucky way to design rewards for a "Once in a Lifetime!" event.

These drop rates might have felt more reasonable for the item that drops across the whole event.

I say "might" because even then it would have felt bad.

Yeah, it's sad that the drop rates for the pet (that just about everyone has from phase 1) are way higher than the new fragments. The server/client/whatever should check to see if you've completed the pet, and if so, should drop the bones instead. That shouldn't have been too much to ask, but this game's motto when it comes to rewards is STINGY. It makes Scrooge look generous.

It's absolutely bonkers that people who have been grinding for the fragments will have to keep grinding these quests after phase II is over in order to complete the achievement. A month + of grinding between phases I and II, yet the achievement encourages people to continue grinding beyond that. It is terrible design.

I've picked up around 30 so far. I've been selling the extras at 48k a piece. Sorry you guys are in a drought. I know you want the achievement but it only changes the color of caltrops, no bones about it.

The community has consistently offered this feedback. Remember the anniversary event? We really complained about the drop rates then too. ZOS doesn't listen. They keep running events with horrible drop rates and then wonder why a positive buzz isn't generated.

What's annoying is that if you got everything in Phase 1, that's still part of the loot pool for Phase 2 so what I am finding is instead of getting new stuff, I much more frequently get repeats of the Phase 1 loot. Which after already grinding for a month, is just... mind-numbingly boring. It's the same concept as wanting new stuff from Witches Festival/Jesters festival/New Life Festival but fighting against a 10-years-old loot pool of things you have hundreds of copies of already and largely getting... more of the same old garbage that you literally cannot even GIVE away at this point.

And for Writhing Wall, yes, I am doing the crafting trick of talking to the quest-giver and backing out until I get provisioning, alchemy, or enchanting to up my chances of getting the newer furnishing plans. Care to take a guess at how many grave markers, Meridian lenses, and puddles of wax I have now while trying to get the other three new plans (which I've yet to get even once and Phase 2 is nearly at the 50% done marker)?

We paid like $60 for this expansion? Really?

I have not been backing out/abandoning crafting dailies and I must admit it is on the rarer side to get the new alchemy/provisioning/enchanting quests but ofc there are many more of the others, whilst only one of each for those three.

I have now dropped all three of the new purple plans but it has taken a lot of characters to do so, I'm not sure that abandoning and retaking is actually any quicker though. 🙂

Have you gotten the new purples from the equipment crafting? My understanding is the type of plan was tied to the type of crafting discipline and since I already have all the other purples except for the three new ones, that's why I was focusing on the new crafting dailies only as I assume they can only drop from those loot boxes.

I've done the Camps, Souls, and all 6 crafting boxes since stage 2 began on PC: in that time I've only got the Praxis: Grave Marker twice and Lens Replica once, all 3 from crafting boxes. Odds are seemingly so low though I can't say if that proves they are exclusive to them.

I've gotten at least 1 or 2 shards from the chest at the siege camps-- not the reward coffer from the quest giver (which do of course drop them, in both the golden and the blue coffers), but the chest that appears in the camp itself. It might be rare, but since you can do camp incursions without needing the quest for them, at least it gives you an unlimited source of trying to farm the shards.

Overall, the event has been one of the worst experiences I've encountered in a couple decades of online gaming. The repetitive boredom, expected effort vs. minimal rewards, and all the bugs to top it off, had me giving up within the first week and playing other games for now. It's definitely worth stepping back and considering whether a pet and a skill style that many will probably never even use is worth all this.

I don’t know where this idea of “let’s add super super rare drops and make it so barely anyone gets it” came from, but it needs to be banished back into the deepest pits of Oblivion from whence it came.

It’s just frustrating. Sure, you get players to grind. You also get them frustrated and they want to leave your game.

I’m so annoyed that everyone seems to be getting the house except me, and now the Wormwrithe weapon pages are basically nonexistent as well. I finally pulled my second… and it’s a duplicate.

Honestly ZOS, do you want people to hate your game? Because from every decision you’ve made lately, that definitely seems like the goal.

I got the new purples from their respective crafting discipline, so one each from Alchemy, Enchanting and Provisioning quests.

My thoughts were that after trying to abandon and retake the quests it still can be ages before even one of those new quests pops........ so instead I just take what is given and move on to the next character. :)
