Every time I ride by this WB nobody is fighting him.

Takes too long to kill

Garbage rewards

I completed it once for the achievement and will never waste my time on it again.

I would guess the wandering ones and that is why they are wandering (apart from the minotaur gang).

I'm honestly not even sure why it silently showed up West of the camp all of a sudden, when the Worm Cult is in the East. Lore-wise, I mean. There's no story on it, no quest either, it's just there and no one knows why.

As you said, there's no point after the 1st time.
There's no daily quest and the loot has nothing special.

Is it bad that I don't even know which world boss that is? I've never seen it, or if I have, I don't remember it.

Me either, so I'm guessing it's from Solstice. Looks like a mini-Molag Bal.

It's a new thing they called Maldrith and it showed up for pc servers with the start of phase 2. It just appeared on the map, it has a world boss symbol, but there's no text (neither lorebook nor dialogue) about it, and no quest either. It's just there. Defeating it once unlocks an achievement. That's it.

That one joins a very long list of DLC WBs that my elf kills when the zone is new and full of players, then ignore as too irritating/hard. Of all the bosses in the wonderful basic alliance zones, only Bittergreen the guar falls into that 'ignore' category. She happily and routinely hunts all the rest of the alliance zone WBs solo and enjoys doing so. There's a lesson in there I think. . . .

There is a book on the table next to the daily quest giver for WB quests in Solstice. If you read the book, it cryptically mentions the boss but there is no actual quest. If you accept the WB daily, the book will disappear until you turn in and complete the WB daily quest.

Fighting it is supposed to help bring the wall down, but there is no evidence to indicate that it does that. I helped with it a few times, but it isn't something that I would purposefully go out of my way to do.

I join the battle every time I'm free and players ask for help. Just to tell them to kill that voriplasm instead of running and carpeting

Seeing those people who struggled with this boss finally kill him is a good reward. Better than the drop.

Honestly, the lack of information about this boss was an unpleasant surprise for me.
It was said in the news that the second phase will bring this WB. Then the Argonian NPC told me that creature may show itself... and nothing else.
I'm dumb. I patrolled the zone about 5 hours, seeking for the wandering boss like in Deadlands

Guess what, I found nobody

Eventually I've seen the marker on the map. Found the boss. Died in the wall a few times. Enjoyed the moment.
But the approach to it was not good at all. The location should've been either marked in the news or directed by some quest/dialogue. Not just "we fill the white spot on the map silently".

Oh. Well, as someone who has already gained all achievements related to the Solstice dailies weeks ago (like many people who played West Solstice since release, I guess), I never went there again, so I missed that. I just didn't expect there was anything new; I'm aware there will be new world bosses in East Solstice, of course, but I didn't bother with the quest giver because East Solstice is obviously not open yet.

So your complaint is it's more difficult than usual a WB? The issue isn't the boss, it's the players wanting ez-mode.

Ez-mode or not, why put effort into it more than once if all you get is a piece of blue gear?

Kill the white voriplasms he spawns and you get a shield to survive the wall mechanic. They don't require much damage to die.

Murkmire WBs, way overturned & too hard. unable to solo and nobody is ever waiting for them when I visit them. usually takes like 3+ people to take them down espec because of their mechanics. Difficulty wouldn't be such an issue if more people played in Murkmire zone but doesn't seem like a lot of people do (i mostly hop around and do random zones every day)

I don't think anyone does Walks-Like-Thunder for fun, you need an army to combat that self-heal and Murkmire isn't the busiest zone. But the real answer is whatever WB I get for my daily. I know dailies are different per account and I seem to be in a rather small pool because mine are always deserted even if I see plenty of people in the zone.

I have a busy life, family, social, hobby, work and so I place a value on my time. If the reward from PLAYING A GAME is less than the value I place on my time then I can not be bothered. I will find something more rewarding to invest my time in. I can, by choice, complete the hardest content in this game, that is not what I chose to do when I have some time to "de-compress".

I wish I had made a note of the author, I think it was @Furyous, but to paraphrase a different post;
When content is vague, recycled, or built around chores instead of gameplay, it doesn’t feel like value.
It feels like obligation.
I do not ask for everything to be perfect.
I want value for my time.
If I feel like I wasted it, then I will do something else.

Not 100% of what they posted, but the sentiment is there.

Walks-Like-Thunder can be solo'ed by some people but his massive self healing makes it not enjoyable even for people who technically can. It's why it seems to me that most people just skip him these days and do wb dailies for the other boss instead.

Is he supposed to be out or did we get ZOS'd again? They fix it and console won't get him till update 59 and Kevin will tell us "we know it's not ideal"

No, it's exactly that thing. Ghiszor or something like that is its individual name. And maldrith is the name of that creature/daedra type.

Sounds like that world boss isn't finished being made part of the game. I wonder if Ghishnor will ever be one of the world bosses assigned by the Solstice world boss daily quest giver, or if it will stay unfinished?
