Battlegrounds Competitive 4v4 is just not balanced

There should be a rank system where players with low gear can not queue in against players with gold PVP gear. Its just 20 minutes of relentless slaughter and griefing and its killing the fun that BG's used to be. To balance they need to just remove all the power sets that give players an advantage if they do not figure out a way to set ranked players apart from PVE players who are looking to get their daily objective. For those that PVP competitively it kills the fun when we get grouped up with random players who are not geared for PVP. @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom something to consider. I have been playing this game since 2014. i am an Ancient Member and I hate to see Battlegrounds in the state that it is in.

While gear is certainly a factor in this game, a competent pvp‘er will still wreck an inexperienced player even with suboptimal gear. There are other reasons why 2 sided bg are an unfun experiece.

Furthermore, how much do you want to hold hands? If one can‘t do the bare minimum (buy gear from a trader or at least upgrade it), how do you expect him to thrive in a ranked / competitive (!) environment?

Since you're tagging Devs, its been an entire year since two team Bg's were introduced, can we please get an answer as to when, if ever, we might get a three team BG weekend? Or if the years worth of player requests for the return, in some way, of three team Bg's has been given any consideration? Would really appreciate any information whatsoever.

Introducing some sort of gear based MMR wouldn't do a thing. Lots of skilled PvPers can waltz into a BG with blue Rubedite gear and still mop the floor with players less skilled than themselves.

I can't find it for the life of me, but isth3reno1else made a video a long time ago demonstrating this back during the 4v4v4 BGs. All Rubedo Leather/Rubedite Ore gear, no gear sets, and still managed to mop up in a BG.

The issue is simply that there isn't a good MMR system and there aren't enough people playing the game to have good MMR brackets.

MMR is heavily tied to Medal Score, and Medal Score is a terrible system that has nothing to do with player skill.

I want a video of proof that someone can walk in a BG today in 2025 in a 4v4 competitive setting, with blue gear, no PVP sets, and mop the floor with 4 players. if you cant prove this then you should not advocate that ESO is skill based. Its completely set based and now with the subclassing they have hacks to make their characters even more stronger. Players new to the game will have no clue whats going on if they step in an arena with veterans. Its just not balanced. Stop trying to defend it.

Is 10-0 good enough to be considered mopping the floor? ESO is far more skill based than gear based. Yes gear matters - if I had good stats in this game it probably would've been even more lopsided - but knowing combos, where to position, when to play defensive, etc etc are far more important.
