Hello there.
I'm currently using a voidmantle sorcerer build. I'm using storm calling/assassination/herald of the tome as my skill lines.
I'm not using the beam, since voidmantle is a HA-focused mythic.
I'm using usfild to source my empower, Escalating Runeblades to gather crux, and tentacular dread to consume it and debuff the targets, along with dots like hurricane.
So far, so good, it performs adequately, parsing a bit over 100k (voidmantle-seargent-deadly), while doing adequate cleave damage. It is enough to be most of the time among the 3 top dps in any vTrial I pug (I can tell because of hodor).
However, I know that is not where the meta lies.
Yesterday, I was kicked of a group for no reason (despite doing 17% of the group dps, not dying, rezzing, etc etc ..). I can only assume it's because the lead saw me using HA, and thought that somehow, I was undeserving of running veteran trials.
I thought, that, maybe I should check the meta, and tried, since I already use herald, to whip up a more "meta" build.
I switched voidmantle for velothi, kept deadly, and switched seargant for (as a staring point) tideborn.
I use beam, cephaliarch, inspired scholarship .. and I end up parsing 90k.
I wasn't expecting to do much more than my HA build, but I certainly wasn't expecting to do less.
I'm looking for advice to pull off a beam build with a sorc base. Is there anything I need to know beside "build crux, firebeam at 3"? (I do know how to la weave, and do it with that build, despite velothi, for it brings ultimates).
Thanks for any insight on the matter !
