Epic Games/ESO

I've been trying to connect to ESO for over 3 hours now, but Epic won't let me log in due to server crashes. Is there a way to circumvent having to log into Epic, or can I not play my wizard game because Fortnite has the Simpsons?

You can try to login directly with the client. Go to to the game folder and look for the game exe. Make a shortcut on your screen and see if it works. I don’t have the Epic version so I don’t know if it works.

Thanks for responding. Nah this doesn't work. Requires me to launch the Epic version, won't let me use my ESO website credentials.

The Epic version won't launch unless I sign into Epic. Hence the conundrum.

If you buy (yeah, I know...) a base game version of eso from zos store - which, alas is no longer under sale - you should be able to link them. Download eso from zos (yeah, I know...) and run the exe or launcher, if you prefer, - with the epic and zos versions linked you'll have full access to whichever version has the most associated content. You could also do the same with steam but then you'd have to launch eso via steam.

So, for example, if you've upgraded your epic version to the latest Solstice with all back-chapters, any base game version you link can be run using the exe/launcher for that base game version but you'll have full access just like your epic version, because it's your 'account' that you would've upgraded via your epic version. Same would be true if you started with the zos or steam version then linked the epic version after.

You can link the versions via your online account - I think the option to do this is down at the bottom of the account page when logged in.

Probably not a solution if epic is down temporarily but it's always an option as it would enable you to launch eso independently of epic.

eso support page: How do I link an existing The Elder Scrolls Online account to my Epic account?. Actually, after skimming this you might just be able to download eso without buying the base game copy and link it anyway, which would make it only costly in terms of time to download and configure.

    Good luck and have fun.

Thanks tincanman- that was really helpful. I couldn't figure out how to escape the chains of Epic, but I think this would work. Previously, I had two whole games installed to try different configurations to launch without Epic, but couldn't work it out. Buying another base copy and associating them would probably work. Trying to connect through any other launcher than the Epic launcher has never worked for me.

However, given that I reinstalled the game last week and it's still riddled with queues, bugs, and apparently inability to connect at all, I've made the executive decision of re-uninstalling it tonight.

Appreciate your help, will have to do that if I ever intend to play again.
