writhing wall phase 2 -- am i missing something?

i watched zos' little explanatory video 2-3 weeks ago, and i swear they said phase 2 would include some new area, like underground tunneling under the wall and fighting some kind of world boss. i must have heard wrong. phase 2 seems identical to phase 1, barring some extremely minor differences in the daily quests. and if that's all phase 2 is, it's incredibly boring. phase 1 was boring enough. sheesh. i know i don't have to 'do' it if i don't want to, but i did pay for the season pass, and the event so far is very lackluster. i mean, i had hopes that phase 2 would mix things up a bit. nope, same platter as 1

Phase 2 has a new world boss. It's West of the main camp at the shore.
Phase 3 will have the new dungeon.

Phase 2 is just 3 more weeks of phase 1. Before phase 3 which is probably just Phase 1 + a public dungeon where enemies will die before you can even see them on your screen.

Phase 3 will have the new dungeon.

Phase 2 will have the new worldboss AFTER U48 drops. It was moved back to the update due to the premature spawning it was doing in Phase 1. See this comment for details.

They also added enchanting, provisioning, and alchemy quests to the pool of writhing wall crafting quests. As well as additional cloth/metal/wood quests. There are still only 6 to do, however, Just a change to spend your columbine. (I only accept the cloth/wood/metal quests, they reset every time you back out of the quest a tad.)

The person who opened this thread and asked the question is on PC EU (according to the text in signature). For PC EU, the world boss is already there.

Phase 2 is basically the same

some more provisioning quests which basically dont change anything
2 incursions / siege camps run at the same time (With i think a bit more enemies) which dont change anything
a new world boss that youre gonna do most likely once anyway (and its also not that fun to be honest imo)

2 new rewards - the worm style weapons drop now (before only armor) and the fragments for the skill style for caltrops (very underwhelming and has nothing to do with the description or icon) also drops...

The reality just hit me... the daily quests are going to go on for weeks, throughout the entire event.

I will do the world boss and other new things just to see them, but that's it. I am not doing any more of these grindy tedious quests.

My understanding, from what I saw on PCEU yesterday:

- The 6 gathering quests are for different items, although the sources of those items appear to be the same as the sources of the items requested in Phase 1, so the Phase 2 quests seem functionally the same as the ones in Phase 1. However, the NPC refers to some of the items as "rare," which made me wonder if the drop rates had been meant to be lower than the drop rates in Phase 1, although the requested "rare" items seemed to drop at the same rate as the Phase 1 items, so I wondered if they increased the drop rates due to player complaints during Phase 1.

- The camp incursions now occur at an increased rate. Basically, up to 2 camps can be under attack at the same time, but of course the timing depends on when the incursions are shut down, and there's a slight pause after an incursion is shut down before another incursion begins, so at any given time there can actually be 0, 1, or 2 camps under attack according to whether one or both of the potential incursions are in the waiting-between-spawns stage.

- There is a new quest to investigate missing supply shipments. I'm not sure if it's a new daily quest, or just a one-time quest.

- I haven't seen or fought the new world boss yet, and I'd done the 6 crafting dailies the night before, after reset but before the beginning of Phase 2, so I wasn't aware that there are new crafting dailies.

yeah, it's not very encouraging. phase 1 took its sweet time to finish, and now we do phase 2, which is phase 1 redo with insignificantly different dailies (you're still fetching the heck out of things, with some killing). there's less incentive to do phase 2 because we all get it now -- it's not a good event. it'll be nearly xmas before we travel east

I suspect that progressing through Phase 2 may take even longer, because many of us are just over it.

There should have been quest lines to progress, which would have made it much more interesting in my opinion.

Writhing wall is total POOP! I have never had a negative thing to say about ESO in all my years of playing.
I have always defended the DEV's
But this is the worst experience I have come across in gaming since Warcraft grinding!

THIS IS NOT FUN!

I can't believe I paid money do work in my game to get new content! This is the worst expansion ESO has ever come up with and I thought the Tales of Tribute was bad.

But no This beats that out as total crap by 100 fold!

Now I do realize that the worst thing ever happened to this game with the Microsoft purchase and they have gutted the company severely. But most of this was coming down the pipe before that. Also most of the teams on this development cycle are now gone. The responsibility lies with the leadership. The Dev's do what they are lead to do.

I truly hope in the future nothing like this ever happens again because my patience for this and understanding wont.
I will ride this expansion out and give the new team a change to do damage control on the state of the game they were left with.

But with the Microsoft purchase of Zenimax-Bethesda which is the worst thing to ever happen to this game My hopes are not even remotely middle let alone high.

I wish with what is left of the Dev's though, a miracle my still occur.

It is kinda nice to see the whole ESO community on all social media platforms from the forums, Reddit, the replies to official tweets etc all finally united on something instead of endless fighting. And that is that almost nobody seems to like the 'special event'.

I disagree that "the whole ESO community" is united about this. But clearly I'm "almost nobody," so my opinion doesn't matter. And I suppose that all of the players I see actively participating in the event must be nobodies, too. It's nice to know we have no importance at all as compared to the very vocal "everybodies."

A lot of players are participating but that doesn't mean they are enjoying it. I participated at first, too. I did the new story quests on all 7 of my characters which took about 20 minutes for each, then started the daily quests. But it didn't take long for the tedium to set in and I'm done.

I'm sure a lot of players still participating are just wanting to get it done and get to Eastern Solstice, because I have virtually seen nothing but negative feedback the longer this goes on.

I'm sure there may be some that are enjoying the event but I don't see them posting about it.

I've been doing one of each daily on my main for the golden boxes (and now a golden plunder skull with event tickets), and the crafting dailies on a couple lower level characters since the XP has been good especially with the Witches Festival. I started off sweatily doing all of them across three or four characters every day, but between the incredibly slow progress, discouraging behind-the-scenes "adjustments", and general lack of variety in both tasks and rewards, this event has honestly already overstayed its welcome and PC NA is not even in Phase 2 yet.

For stage two I talked to the Knife orc, then to an argonian then examined an site in Greenshade and reported back to the argonian it it's ended the quest chain? Yes that works as an random side quest you run into, not for an major event.

That's actually not a new quest but the next quest stage of a quest that started in phase 1. I guess it will end with phase 3.

It's also a bit bugged, though. If a character has not started the quest in phase 1, but accepts it now, the dialogue doesn't make any sense because parts are missing.

Seems developers do not like the player base, "punishing" us for something... This event COULD have been really awesome, but seems there is NO imagination at all from the developers side. Really sad to see that.

Lets give them ONE World Boss in Phase Two... and also, wait for it... Lets open up fighting at TWO camps at the same time. Now they have plenty to do.... stupid.

While people enjoying the event aren't nobodies (but you knew that's not what they meant) participation doesnt equal enjoyment. I'm doing the event daily to do my part even though I think Zos most definitely has their finger on the scale. I think this event as a whole is a terrible miss. The rewards are junk, when they drop. Zos themselves have replied that they've heard our feedback. They increased drops from field marshals but ran out of quarters to hotfix the boxes. They changed some reward stuff for the other phases. I'm glad you're enjoying, though from your post history I'd say you're being contrarian to white knight. Which is cool. But unfortunately it's not what many are seeing. People here, reddit, social media, discord and in game are pretty negative. The community seems pretty united by that, and that's a good thing. Just because you love a game doesn't mean you have to accept sub par content. In fact, I'd say it's the duty of someone who loves the game to stand up and let them know when they failed. To tell them what they'd rather see or what they didn't like. That seems to be happening here by people who love the game and want to see it succeed.

There's a new world boss icon on the map, but the boss hasn't yet spawned in. (We've been in phase 2 since Monday)

So it seems Console have to wait 2 weeks for the world boss to appear. Which is odd since it's already in the game - I have credit for killing him and my map icon is white, but go figure
