Request: Have Dro-m'Athra enemies count as "Void Creatures" for endeavor purposes.

Currently, the only useful locations for Void Creatures are found in pay gated regions, unlike a majority of "defeat/destroy X enemy" endeavors who tend to have base game options.
As it stands, the only base game option for Void Creatures is Voidmother Elgroalif through Infinite Archive. She appears in one of the Cycles, in a pool of dozens of bosses. Good luck relying on that, you could be there for hours. Also fun fact, voidmothers that spawn due to the Writhing Wall invasions in Delves/Public Dungeons don't count.

Thus, my request to you, Zenimax, is to tweak Dro-m'Athra type enemies so that they count as Void Creatures. It makes sense, lore wise, as both Voidmothers/Shades and Dro-m'Athra are related to Namira/Namiira. There is also a voice line spoken by random Dro-m'Athra enemies in the Maw of Lorkhaj:

"Behold, the power of the void!"
Rakkhat, the fang of Lorkhaj, also has many lines referencing the void and Namiira.

This also opens up some extra options for base game players and DLC players alike, as Dro-m'Athra can be found in the Sathram Plantation in Stonefalls or in the Infinite Archive through Zhaj'hassa, Rakkhat or through stages where Dro-m'Athra are one of the regular enemy types that can spawn. This also opens up the use of the Maw of Lorkhaj itself from the Thieves Guild DLC as a possible option for this endeavor.
Altaïr: You of all people should know the answer; educate them. Teach them right from wrong. It must be knowledge that frees them. Not force.
Jubair: They do not learn, fixed in their ways as they are. You are naive to think otherwise. It is an illness, for which there is only one 'cure'."

This makes sense lore-wise. The first dro-m'Athra is explicitly said to have sprung from the Dark Heart of Lorkhaj (which was Namiira's corrupt imitation of his heart that was keeping Lorkhaj alive) when it was torn from Lorkhaj and flung into the void. The very same Dark Heart of Lorkhaj that's source for all the void creatures in The Reach DLC. According to the lore, they are very much creatures of the void, just as much as void mothers are.

Crushing Void, Unstable Void, Void Bolt, Void Shackle, Void Slash, and Void Spheres are also attacks/mechanics in the trial. Void Assassin is the name of a mob (the ones that must be found and killed in the litterbox, iirc). The trial has other effects with Void in the name as well, such as No See in Void, Void Armor Cast, and Void Proj Immune. The Dro-m'Athra are very clearly Void-type enemies in the developers' minds.

I think perhaps Dro-m'Athra were kept off the Void endeavor list not because they're not Void (which they clearly are) but because it would make this endeavor a "free" one (i.e. doable with only the base game plus the free DLC - Vvardenfell and IC) as opposed to "paid". Normally there are at least three "free" endeavors, and possibly a fourth or even fifth. This is presumably so that people who have only the base game (plus free DLC) can still do their 3/3, while people who have paid (for DLC or sub, etc.) have more options in terms of variety, not the ability to complete more total endeavors.

But that would mean that making this a "free" endeavor (by adding Dro-m'Athra or other base game mobs into the pool) would not necessarily change how many "free" vs. "paid" endeavors are offered in a given day. It would slightly increase the variety of free endeavors while slightly decreasing the variety of paid ones.

It does make me wonder, however, if the system/people in charge of curating endeavors are incorrectly counting this Void endeavor as "free" when it's really not. (As you pointed out, it's not reasonable to make people farm IA for one Void boss for a daily endeavor.) Today we only have two realistically "free" endeavors, since this one, the jewelrycrafting one, and the antiquities one all functionally require current access to paid DLC.

If they don't add Dro-m'Athra to Void creatures, they should at the very least look into why there aren't three (realistic) "free" options for endeavors today.

    I feel the same way.

Hmm, true. There is a lot of potential to add other paid options though. Kills with X class, kills in specific zone as was the case with Coldharbour in the golden pursuit. Haven't seen a Dragon endeavor in a long time either. Perhaps there is some performance limitation or some other roadblock and they are trying to do this? I wish I knew more.

there are a few non-paid areas where you can encounter void creatures, though its a bit RNG and there isnt many

the infinite archive is base game content, and some of the enemies that spawn in there are void creatures

one boss that can spawn is lady belain, which part of her fight she spawns some voidmothers that you can take down which count as void creatures (i havent specifically tested this with the endeavor, but voidmothers are counted as void creatures in other content)

another boss that can spawn is an actual voidmother boss (voidmother elgoalif), that if you dont burn her down super fast she spawns adds, which i believe are also counted as void creatures (again i havent specifically tested this, but some of her adds are like "void rot" which is the blobby enemy which do count as void creatures)

i dont believe off hand ive seen void creatures spawn as part of the trash waves, but i would bet they would be added as more regular enemies at some point in the future

there is a pretty large list of varying enemies that can spawn in the archive, though it does not currently encompass all the varies enemy types/factions in the game yet

more on topic with the thread, i could see dro-m'athra being counted as void creatures, lorewise they still get their power from the dark heart of lorkhaj, which is effectively the same as the void creatures themselves

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

What are the other locations are there for base game aside from the Archive?

You are correct about Lady Belain, she spawns regular Voidmothers (the WW event version is a bluer hue) so I think they work though I haven't checked. The issue is the same as with Elgroalif though, its a 2 in dozens chance to get them in the pool of bosses after what usually takes 10-20 minutes. I can't see that as a healthy option for a daily as they stand.

A lackluster rewards system, implemented to avoid loot box backlash/regulatory actions, is being used to (possibly) drive sales of under-performing areas by encouraging FOMO. I don't think anyone is worried about what's actually fair or convenient to players.
