Exorcised Coven Cottage not in CS/no Crown option previewing it

I didn't see it in the October CS showcase as coming back this month, but it's supposed to be in the CS during the event. Also no option to select buying with Crowns when you preview it, which I assume is because it's not currently in the CS.

The only thing I can think is it's coming next week on Monday? So it would still be released during October and the event, just not from the start of the event.

It's available for gold after you get the relevant event achievement while the Witches Festival is active

I literally bought it minutes after the event started

Yes, but that's not my question. It's supposed to be in the Crown Store during the Witches Festival, that's the only time of year it is is. And you don't need the achievement when buying with Crowns, only with gold.

I haven't been online today to see if it was added but if it wasn't, that means something is wrong.

EDIT: It looks like, checking the CS on the site, the Cottage isn't in the CS yet.

Was the Cottage not meant to come back to the CS for the Festival this year and would only be available for gold? Because if so it was never communicated that would be the case, the article didn't mention it, the post for the article didn't mention it, I'm not aware of anything that did.

Old items expired this morning, and new items went up.

As well there's not scheduled maintenance for the crown store this week to refresh it.

As well there's not scheduled maintenance for the crown store this week to refresh it.

Maintenance isn't needed to refresh the store.

The vast majority refresh on a Thursday. Where that usually differs is items going on for events - at the start of the events and lasting the period of the event.

While the house is event related it's obvious ZOS missed it off the list at the start of the event. As such checking on Thursday when the major refresh happens may yield a positive result.

But they never made an announcement stating they knew it wasn't there. If it was an accident, why wasn't there some sort of post or banner saying when it would be added? Why wasn't there a hotfix to add it days ago? They've proven they can take the CS down on a whim to fix things, and Denver posted their own thread days ago. There should be no reason to need to wait until Thursday (or, really, to have needed to wait until today if it was going to be added). Plus I doubt ZOS didn't know before their or my posts, as I imagine people have probably sent in tickets about the matter without posting about it.

I have the house, I've had it for years, but other people I know are trying to get it this year and it's just not there for Crowns. Yes, you can get it for gold and it's not that much, but the achievement needed to unlock it for gold is kind of a lot to do on top of people also trying to do stuff for the Wall event.

That's possible, but why not post that in either this thread or the one Denver made? Or post it...anywhere? The dev tracker doesn't show any posts about it from anyone, and they've had to know for a while about the thing not being in the store, so it's not like they haven't had time to make an announcement or something.

And if it comes out next week for the first few days of November, that only gives about four days for someone to grab something that should have been available for the WHOLE event. I can't remember if it's been available for such a short amount of time before, but I don't think it has? It doesn't make sense to make it available for only four days out of the whole event. At least if it comes out sometime this week that'll be a few more days to get it, but even then, it should have been made available the same time the event started.

So...can we please get some sort of actual official statement on this? It's been days and it should be a simple matter of either "no it's not coming to the CS this year and that's intentional" (and if that's the case why was it not communicated anywhere?), "yes it's coming soon but will only be available for the last few days of the event" (and again, why wasn't that communicated?), or "it was supposed to be in the CS already but there's been some sort of bug or issue that's kept it from showing up and we're working on it" (which...again, why has that not been communicated?).

I've always acknowledged y'all can only say what you're given permission to say, so this frustration at a lack of an answer on something that should be easily addressed is aimed at whatever people are saying "don't answer" or are dragging their feet on giving you one. This is an example of the lack of communcation people always cricisize. I mean sure, I could be wrong and this is a lot more complicated of a matter than it seems. But I really really really doubt that answering whether a House that has been brought back to the CS for every subsequent Witches Fest is supposed to be available for Crowns this year or not is that complex an issue.

And sure, it's not like the house isn't available at all. People can buy it with gold. But people also need achievements for that, things that might be hard to do when also trying to do WW event stuff or working towards the GP. Especially the achieve requiring looting 100 Plunder Skulls.

Hi all, following up on this after chatting with the team. Exorcised Coven Cottage is not planned for the Crown Store this Witches Festival. As noted in the thread, it is available as a gold purchase. We understand this is odd due to previous years having the house match with the event, timing wise.

In the showcase, it does note that Shadow Queen's Labyrinth and Agony's Ascent are the two homes that will be available for purchase during the Witches Festival timeframe, which is why there was not a separate note for Exorcised Coven Cottage. The implication being that noting those two homes with the dates would make it clear that those would be the ones on offer during Witches Festival. However, we will take feedback to the team to see if there is a better way to highlight what homes will be on offer during Witches Festival or if there is a house that is normally on offer but is not included in this year's rotation.

Full disclosure, I already have that house, so this is just my general sentiment applied to this example.

If there's something you guys have done for years - like have the same mount or house for an event, I would keep it in the rotation. People get used to these things, and look forward to them because they've come to expect them. Unless there's some real technical constraint, you really should just be adding things.

But, like I've said in the past, reducing the time-gated house availability would make a lot of people happier. It's money you guys are leaving on the table. I'd rather see a Halloween sale where a discount's applied, rather than a limited window of availability. The game relies too much on FOMO, IMO.

I appreciate the answer, and no offense to you, but the whole "it was implied it wouldn't be available since it wasn't mentioned" was...definitely a decision to be made. It should never be left up to "implication". There's no reason the article couldn't have just included that information, it would have been like one or two sentences. The House has been available for every Witches Fest; it not being mentioned would, to most people, be seen as an oversight or error, NOT assume it meant something that's returned to the CS without fail each year randomly wouldn't return.

And making the House available only by gold with the achievement with the current event for the WW going on? This was like the WORST year to make it only available with gold.

I too already have this house but this is, again, an example of a lack of communication from the higher-ups making these decisions. This is the sort of thing we're talking about when we say there's no communication about things. There 100% should have been something somewhere about it not being in the CS this year.

Again not aiming this at you. You do what you can and it's appreciated.

That is an odd decision to make, and everyone is going to assume that both versions of the Halloween house will be up for sale unless we hear differently, since that is the way it has always been.
