Writhing Wall event - do I need to finish zone story to get memento?

Hi all. So I've heard the Crossing the Wall quest isn't available unless you've finished(?) the zone story. And you get the Writhing Wall Remnant memento for doing the Crossing the Wall quest. I haven't done the zone story yet and I'd prefer not to rush through it if I don't have to. Will I not get the memento if I don't finish the zone story first, then the Crossing the Wall quest before the Writhing Wall event ends? Thanks

The questline (including Crossing the Wall) can be completed at any time, so it doesn't need to be done during the event. The only thing that's limited-time is a title for completing the Writhing Fortress during Phase 3 of the event.

Crossing the Wall cannot be completed until Phase 3 of the Writhing Wall event is complete for your server. The memento isn't tied to the event, so even if you were to do the quest after it concludes, you don't have to worry about missing out on it.
