Templar What is a solid race choice?

Ok so I am considering trying a Templar from some things I have recently read on the forums...but what is a decent race for them? I have been staring at the charts of racials from http://tamrielfoundry.com/races/ ...I am currently attempting to try and not have 2 of the same race for my first 4 characters within my main guild if at all possible(although I might if you can show me why I should).

Also I mostly plan on playing as melee for close range and caster with a destruction staff either fire or ice for range.

So far I have made a Dunmer Dragonknight for the bonuses to fire damage increased magic and stamina pools. Sorcerer is kinda a work in progress I will probably stay with High Elf but was debating on going Khajiit but that's being talked about in a different thread. And I have a Khajiit Knightblade which if I did go Khajiit for Sorcerer I would swap to a Wood Elf.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be helpful. I have a few ideas but not really sure. Also just curious are the paladins solar spells considered fire damage? If anyone happens to know.

Thanks!

Don't really care about best racials for a class... But I can say I choose an Argonian for the Restoration Staff skill as i'm planning to play the templar as a hard healer in late game + the bonus from Alchemy Potions will be handy to replenish Mana later on.

Which race I would pick would depend on what I wanted from my templar. I feel Bretons will make good tank/support templars, and Dunmer for offensive casting. But any race will really work for any class. If you have a specific build or play style in mind, I'll be able to give you a better idea of what race I think will work best.

And I'm don't know how many skills, but I do know a few of the templar's skills are fire damage.

Probably Breton or Altmer for the magicka passives, Templar doesn't have a decent magicka regen active like the sorcerer or nightblade.

I'd agree--I haven't decided on what type of healer I wanted an alt character to be in-game, but, due to their racial perks, I feel Argonian would be a strong contender, especially for a straight-up healer role, like Restoring Light.

I'm guessing there's a cap on weapon levels which may be easily reached on any race long before it's really needed.

I've gone for an Altmer myself for the bonuses to Magicka pooling. Who knows if the racials really make that much of a difference to even serious end game players? I doubt it will matter too much (if at all) for most.

The Dawn's Wrath Skills: Sun Fire and Solar Flare and their upgrades are Fire Damage.

Templar dont have ANY passive magicka regeneration, so if you are saying you want to be caster, Breton will be your choice, because of race passives. And yes, they do matter, and are important. Combine it with light armor passives and you will see huge reduce in spell costs, magicka pool increased, and also regeneration buff.

Racials don't matter and can be made up for ingame so play the race you want.

Thanks for the info might try out a Bosmer since I mainly want to play with a bow and that would give me a nice benefit of getting more use damage from long range stealth.
