Member back in the day, it was late October, you were an ESO plus member and you got to explore awesome regions like Southern Elseweyr, Murkmire, The Reach.

Least we have buggy fetch quests this year...

Not sure what you're trying to say. ESO+ still gives access to all the zones except the current "chapter" and the October community events have never been open to subscribers, just people who own the chapter.

This event is awful but there's actually something for people who don't own Solstice to do which is a first

Sorry I have a bit of brain fog today and just realised what you meant! Yes it sucks not to have a small zone and just being made to wait for the second half of the zone we paid for over half a year ago. One of the many things a lot of us hate about the whole content pass thing!

I'd much rather have the devs improve what is already there (and fix the crap-ton of bugs) then release another zone.

Unfortunately, if “what you want to do” is something like Bolgrul dailies to level your or your Companions’ Undaunted lines, you can’t do those whether you own Solstice or not.

There is a very strong undercurrent of “if you’re not doing wall dailies, you’re playing this game wrong” right now. I’d take an event which doesn’t rub itself in your face and disrupt your actual play any day of the week.

I think if you are doing wall dailies you're also playing the wrong game because you could be playing one that's fun instead :D

EDIT: misread because of that brain fog again - some days you should just give up and shut up! [facepalm]

IMO they should update old zones and factions. A new story for the Thieves Guild, Dark Brotherhood, going up to level 20 in skills with new abilities. Same with Fighters and Mages. We could have a functional arena outside of Cyrodiil...

I can absolutely imagine it's extra annoying for pass owners. Previous years if I couldn't afford the chapter at launch, I'd get it on the event or at the end of the year. But being ESO+ there was usually a "free" zone with something interesting to do this time of year.

Was just chatting with a friend about it and got a bit sad at ESOs year of meh 😅

This is the sad fact in all of this..

We get less content BUT we also get waaay more bugs and unintended releases, stuff released at the wrong time or just plain broken on release.

I've always been a defender of ZoS but right now they should just be glad there's no other MMO that interests me because even I am considering a long break.

Today's update has just been a litany of errors and I'm quite shocked if I'm honest! :o

Man why you gotta bring up Elsweyr, this time that year I was in 7th Heaven exploring Pellitine. This time this year Im not even playing cause I got fed up with the wall dailies, especially after learning that after everything we do, the ugly necro wall isnt going away. There's just gonna be little holes in it to go thru.

Solstice has been a huge bust for me, but they got my money so what can I do. Wait for the wall to get holey, go do the Quests in the Coldharbour Lite side of Solstice, and then most likely never go back again.

Seems waiting til now to get any of this content was the right call, minus where they make you pay 50 dollars for the year long pass instead of just what is available now. Thank Shor they finally fixed the Monomyth lead bug.

I just hope that second half of the island is worth it. Coming off Apocrypha and even West Weald, this has been depressing.

They should honestly never, ever tie in an event with the dlc again. Not unless they by some miracle learn from their mistakes and improve it.

I get that they cant commit as many employees to making content after that huge layoff but they need to make it less obvious, and maybe charge less money til they get their act together. They were doing seemingly so well at least in my opinion prior with dlc, not everyone agreed of course but I think we can all agree this is a massive nose dive in quality from just a year ago.

No more friggin islands either, Tamriel has way too many unexplored areas to be wasting potential on made up islands with bad lore. Not unless it is Shivering Isles anyway.

So the entire thing is removed when you complete the Quest? They really instanced it? Cause I heard from others on the PTS that the Meridian Light thingy only opens holes where the roads are but the rest of the wall stays.

It does appear to be instanced, yes. There's a tunnel that opens up as soon as the Writhing Fortress is cleared for the first time on the server, which is probably what you heard about. But at the end of the quest you deal with the wall itself.

One Tamriel, Clockwork City, and Murkmire were also October patches.

One Tamriel was game changing, Clockwork City introduced a good zone, item transmutation, and a trial. Murkmire came with a zone and a 4 man arena. They also still had bug fixes and combat adjustments during those patches.

This year they released clunkier animations for Q4

It was a feature removal patch.

The most annoying part that the zone is already there, with quests, locations etc. which are at the very least new. I can't imagine levels of boredom for people grinding the dailies still each day when there's a damn fake barrier between them and the actually new content they've paid for that can be potentially more fun just because novelty, definitely more fun than the same dailies for a month and it's only a "start".

The delayed access was the worst idea you can imagine with such execution. People had nothing to do literally on a next day and they've expected people doing it for a month somehow. Best they can do is scrap the event and give players access to the zone without extra steps like "exploiting" onto other side or a waiting game of when zos decides you can enter.

Apparently consoles won't even get the "new" boss until U48, which will probably be after phase 2 is over unless it takes much longer than 1.

The event is bad, but I gotta say the first side quest I tried was actually pretty good, about the haunted house. I know most people dont care about that but with all the negativity for the dlc, that much should be said, the quest team usually does a good job. No idea for the main quests yet or if the other side quests are as good, but it gives me hope for the rest of the content.

Corelanya Manor was my favorite side quest from West Solstice. Unfortunately, all other side quests in that zone don't even come close. A few were okay. Many were not that interesting. Two were sadly completely lorebreaking. But tastes differ, of course.

Of course not. It needs to be there for new players otherwise nothing would make sense. ZOS could of course create instances for those who complete the quest to take it down, but then those people would lose access to the dailies that drop the motifs, styles and fragments.
