ZOS, Skills Styles shouldn't just be strobe lights

I just requested a refund for the Nocturnal Styles. What is the point of even having the crows involved in the skill style if they can't be seen? I feel like I'm just throwing purple smoke bombs everywhere. The overwhelming smoke and purple just buried the coolest part of the skill style itself. Can you please tone down these effects with future skill styles? The smoke overwhelms the crows entirely and when every dies in one hit, I certainly don't get to see the DoTs. Not everything in the game has to emit fumes!

Am I the only one wanting more grounded effects?

I wanted new animals for the skill line. As it stands, the luminous purple crows stick out like a sore thumb next to the other skills.

Struggling to find a new class to call home. Please send help.

It's a constant request and complaint from me. All skillstyles, recall customsations, polymorphs, mounts etc are just so full of effects these days. Like why does even my melee weapon need big and loud effects? Even putting on a skin needs an effect and bang now.

All I wanted was some animal replacements for my warden that wasn't Morrowind based, but they just have to put a bunch of big and loud effects on them instead of letting it just be crows, so no purchase from me.
[Lie] Of course! I don't even worship Daedra!

I don't want to derail the discussion but I wonder if this has something to do with the horrible attention span in "TikTok generation" and the need to keep the overstimulation coming.
"Plain and simple" seems a mirage these days...
You can see this in TVs and various sources of entertainment where oversaturation of colors is used to retain attention - Skyrim cold colors would probably fail to appeal nowadays.

You're not alone in this, I've been fighting for less flashy, glowy effects for years now.

After seeing the skill styles in the preview, I didn't buy them due to the completely unnecessary flashy smoke effects. I'm certainly NOT going to spend roughly € 20 just to have them. Sorry ZOS, but I value my money and I won't spend it on overdone vfx.
Release crows without the purple glow and smoke effects and I'll get them, but not as they are now.

I am also much more in favor of subtle and coherent effects, especially on frequently used abilities. But what stands out to me a bit more than just the flashiness, is that the color saturation on skill styles seems to be quite high compared to the original class ability effects. They pop a bit too much.

Good to know I shouldn't waste my time with those new skill styles. Super bright glowy effects ruin so many cosmetics in this game.

Good thing that it's not designed for you then. It's for the people who want and enjoy it. Not everything in the game caters to everyone, or should it.

But complaining and whining and throwing a stink about cosmetics in game you don't like is not a mature way to handle it. Just move on ignore it, and go find things you enjoy and put those on your characters. Don't ruin other people's fun just because you don't like it. Not every single thing in the game caters to one specific person or group of people.

i do wish we had a toggle for flashing light effects.

Though the purple effects make sense thematically as these are Nocturnal skill styles, they indeed obscure the crows.
