Sorcerer Race Gridlocked on choosing please help!

So I am part of the Ebonheart Pact and I can’t seem to get past this nagging feeling in the back of my head that if I don’t go Altmer I will be gimping myself. So here I am having a hard time choosing a race… I love the way Breton’s look the best of the 3, Altmer have the best Racials from what I can tell, and Dunmer have a gorgeous dance and look good in general..I’ve even sadly considered quitting the game just because I am having such a hard time being decisive about this. I know super lame reason to stop playing that’s also why I really want to figure this out! Plus I like the game so far from what I have played.

Long and Short is will I gimp myself if I went say Dunmer vs either of the other 2. Breton’s I here make great healers, Altmer make great dps, but unless you talk Vampire I never hear really what or why it would be worth it to play a Dunmer instead.

No, you will not. Racials are useless past lvl 10.

Dunmer are in Ebonheart Pact. Go with that as your reasoning + their religion makes it very, VERY easy to practice Daedric magic in public.

Your dilemma is now solved.

Your worried about this way too much. Lol. It shouldn't take more than 30 seconds to pick a race. You can make up for almost any racial passive in other ways so choose based on what you like the look of. Go Breton. Although I will say since your ebonheart maybe pick Dumner. I tried playing a race in a alliance it didn't belong to and it felt way out of place. Imagine being a Breton and spending two hours on a quest where your killing Bretons because your supposed to hate them. I didn't like that and at that moment I decided I would never play a race out of their alliance. Only one that can get away with it is imperial.

Any rational person will chose Dunmer anytime for any class because Dunmer=Awesome.
The racial bonuses for Dunmer and Altmer are probably not that important at endgame since the game has soft caps for magicka, magicka regen which can be easily reached by both races. Dunmer would make a slightly better fire staff build with the added benefit of not giving much of a damn about getting hit by fire. In the end the racials are such a small part of a build that you can see sorcerer Nords doing just fine.

I just noticed that Dunmers get just 3% less magicka than Altmers and 9% magica regen in combat means almost nothing near the cap.

Also fire/ice/shock effects damage doesn't mean a direct dps 4% increase since effects are not applied on each spell.

You also have to think that you may not play the same role all the time. Later you may choose to want a all stamina build.
