Discord or Location to ask for a build request?

I am thinking about returning with the wife to ultimately start raiding but the game seems to have become extremely complicated with builds, leveling guides, etc. But on the positive side there has to be a build that would be perfect for me to return after being able to be 3 classes. I am going to post my desires here but if there is another location or discord forums where I can post to get feedback please let me know.

Necro DPS focused on blasting bones, light attacks, and abilities that you use off cooldown. I also am looking at making a tank as an offspec for dungeons but not priority just yet.

I love blasting bones. It is an ability where you hit it and it just auto targets and does it's own thing without having to think to much. I love this playstyle (passive). I also like light attacks compared to having to hold and charge "heavy attack" via a staff. I like the playstyle of one bar builds but I am open to two bar builds as long as some of the abilities on the back bar are only slotted for passives OR allows me to keep the same "rotation" no matter what bar I am on. An example is that if my normal rotation is to hit 1, 2, 3 , then I want to switch to the rear bar and hit 1, 2, 3 if that makes sense so I don't have to muscle memory what bar I am on and such. I have a little bit of a medical issue in my hands and while I am also lazy, it's not just because I am lazy that I need an easier rotation playstyle.

I am not a fan of abilities that require you to build "5" stacks of something and then spend them. I prefer abilities that once you use it, it goes on cooldown and is NOT USEABLE AGAIN until it comes off cooldown. One of the reason I love blasting bones.. If you don't have a corpse, nothing happens. To those that have played all the classes and then some, any chance could list some other abilities that do the same thing?

Keep in mind I am only this way with the dps buttons. I will cast self-buffs and heals/shields as needed and want a class that does respectable DPS but is also self-sustainable with survivability.

Any guidance would be great. I've watched a million Youtube videos and many of them are great but it's really hard to find a build that does blasting bones AND doesn't use heavy attack.

I’ll try to help you the best I can.
All of these have amazing builds and very detailed guides on how to use them, almost step-by-step.
My last piece of advice: stay out of Discord if you’re asking for help.

Disagreeing with the commenter above— avoid xynode at all costs and you most certainly can ask on discord for help, just be prepared to weed out bad advice if you’re asking more casual guilds and be prepared to stand up for yourself if you’re asking more endgame guilds.

It sounds like what you’d be interested in is a corpseburster build. Corpseburster builds use, well, the corpseburster set. But because they do so, they use blastbones AND detonating tether.

    Here’s one someone’s made: https://eso-hub.com/en/builds/olsaturnlo/9de18d49-c59f-4e6f-ae90-69bcb244c783/corpsebuster-pve

An update 45 corpseburster build from skinnycheeks: https://www.skinnycheeks.gg/necromancer

Whatever, whether people like xynodegaming or not, one thing is true: he explains almost every build step by step. If people don’t like his content for whatever reason, at least they can still pick up some useful tips to try something new.
But please, I’ve always followed xynodegaming for as long as I can remember, so tell me:
why should I avoid him? Give me (and the OP) actual reasons, not just empty words. What are they then?

    NOTE:
In fact, my best parse comes from a SkinnyCheeks build, not because it’s the best build out there, but because it’s an Arcanist.
I also use a build from Hyperioxes, and without a doubt, it’s a crazy one! It’s not the best, and it’s not the worst, but it’s fun and gets the job done. All of them explain in detail why we should do this or that.
XynodeGaming? Oh boy… without question, my hero. He’s the one who explained those “small details” in builds that turn out to be the biggest ones. Without a doubt, someone I’d recommend to players like OP.

Okay, I’ll say it… Discord is the place where you’ll find the best players, no question about it. You’ll meet people who genuinely know their stuff and can help you with almost any question you have.
I don’t know about you, but when I need help, I look for the best, not the "casual" ones. And the best players, the ones who really can help you because they are the best, often have a lot of trolls around them. Those trolls won’t help you, instead, they’ll mock you, discourage you, and do whatever they can just to amuse themselves.
That’s the real problem. The knowledge is there, but you have to wade through the noise, the egos, and the trolls to find the people who actually care about helping others.

People go to Discord asking for help, but instead of getting answers, they end up leaving with nothing, just becoming a joke for others.
Anyway, if you don’t agree, that’s fine. Go ahead and be happy.

I agree. The best players are hanging out in trial focused Discords but they’re often surrounded by a lot of mid or frustrated players who likes to troll and ***.
What I usually do is this: if I notice someone really good who’s willing to help, I keep in touch with them in private messages instead of trying to have serious discussions in the open channels. That way I still get the good advice without all the noise and trash people.

Help from experienced top players and private coaching is invaluable though it requires filtering through a lot of chaos.

(Sadly ESO community is not welcoming anymore and I wish people having more valuable social interactions in this game).

Xynode, even more than the others, fails to go into any level of detail on passives and champion points. These sites are a good place for newbies, but veterans really shouldn't be relying on them - they should have acquired the knowledge themselves by around 300CP.

Thanks all for the feedback and info. One thing I would like to add is that I am a grown man who does not get offended easily and can deal with trolls who aren't actually interested in helping. I agree with Barto that I usually determine who knows their stuff and are willing to help and just reach out when needed.

With that said, could someone link me to a "trial" focused discord or a location where I can talk to some of the more experienced players?

    Thanks again for the assistance.

I used a Xynode build myself when I was newer and, well, it was rather bad. Sure, he’s most known for his oakensorc that does work but now Hyperioxes has joined the HA niche as well. He seems to enjoy skills and sets that are just not worth slotting. Let’s dive into his magicka cro build:

    - There’s no buff stacking on the front bar (less damage), I understand the point of the build is to be an easy rotation though.
    - Should not be suggesting degeneration when you’re already getting the buff from skeletal arcanist. Since it’s a magicka DoT build I could see an argument for structured entropy.
    - Shooting star on the front bar for what reason? From looking at other builds, it should be colossus for necro passive.
    - Necrotic potency? On a DPS? Inner light… on the backbar? You’re missing crit chance on your frontbar? Hello camo hunter?
    - Unleashed Ritualist is bad and it’s not buffing any of the DoT damage. Light armor corpseburster or order’s wrath or something would be better.
    - SIRORIA? For the past several years fights have become more mobile. You will be forced to move out of your Siroria ring. Especially if you go to stand in front of the healers like you’re supposed to.

Most importantly, though, Xynode’s approach to the game is dangerous. He overstates how good his builds are and repeatedly enforces “play how you want” and “mechanics are everything, DPS doesn’t matter”. People who follow these mantras seem to be easily defensive, clashing hard with endgame players who have the “best route forward” approach. Coming from someone who also clashes with that approach and has quit trials because of doing so.

Xynode’s builds are majority HA anyways, which is not what OP wants.

Good to hear! I’m not sure what platform you’re on but I’ll dm you a link to the scorepush hub server. There’s links to all kinds of discords (mostly trial related) for every platform in there. There are also build channels but since it’s a scorepush focused discord I’m not sure what kind of advice you’d get there.

If you want a link I can dm it to you. I don’t feel comfortable posting discord links out in the open because I don’t want to be the cause of a server getting raided (either by disgruntled people or by scam bots).

@Soarora Sure. DM me that link please. I’m genuinely curious to see what’s different in that one compared to what I’ve said about the others I know.
