Where are the Sweepers and Soul Reapers?

Come to think of it, this might make the Witches Festival somewhat more difficult, since one of the tasks is to take down a Sweeper group.

I think I've seen exactly one sine my last post (Sept. 5th), and that was a while ago. Random incompetent Summoners, Werewolves, and Bandits - yes. Soul Reapers - no. And I too miss the random Daedra/Vampire crews dropping out of nowhere. At one point, it was pretty common for me to run into these while going between fishing spots or digging up treasure chests and antiquities. Now, it's eerily quiet...

It's entirely possible. Deshaan is my home base too. I usually check with others in game to see if they're having similar experiences before I come to the forum.

I've been thinking about this too. Unless they decide to change the requirements. Or if they decide to leave it broken for the whole festival like they did with the Crow Borne Horror two years ago.

The sweeper is also fulfilled by public dungeon and IC bosses. So, it will still be easily doable. Unfortunate that these aren't working though and obviously they should comment on it. Just wanted to give a heads-up for anyone that usually just gets it done with the sweeper right in front of the witch festival and usually didn't have it even think about this skull.

for myself, i found it significantly more rare to find a soul reaper outside of solstice

in solstice it only spawns soul reapers so its much easier to farm for the achievement

So, I saw the commoner here and could hear there was a Soul Reaper here, BUT, while it occasionally spawns cultists, the reaper itself is probably within the cliff. i went down to the bottom to see if it was down there, and it wasn't. if you climb up to the top you get some cultist dialog and a cultist spawn, but, yeah, the reaper is in the cliff.

They disappeared after the update last month. I submitted a ticket but had no feedback. I'm 9/10 lol.

Not seen any sweepers which is more than inconvenient for the witches festival for quick tickets and done. I did see one of those replacements - reapers? - but it didn't drop anything witches event related. I don't have/want season pass/solstice.

This overwriting of base game stuff is annoying and pretty lazy development-wise. Even in the past with stuff like companions they've at least added a door and a small piece of instanced content but just replacing delve, public dungeon bosses and sweepers is really annoying. Tough luck for anyone trying to complete base game zones or public dungeons with this rubbish ongoing, better just playing something else.

I'm up to a glorious total of 3 soul reapers since the start of the WW event, although I admit I haven't been actively running the spawn locations.

9 times out of 10 the Soul Reaper is started by 2 NPC's (green names, a civilian and a Fighter/Mage guild member). Once you get closer to them the Soul Reaper appears.

Only if you get that specific random spawn. You could also get vampires/daedra, or... nothing (which seems to be the case most of the time).

I've done Reaper's as my first event action of the day a couple of times so far (outside of Solstice and on different accounts, just because there's a spawn near the wayshine heading to my favourite boss!) and there's been no gold skull or tickets either time.

I haven't bothered getting it from a PD so far so don't know if it would still drop a purple, but definitely seems to not drop gold

I suspect this may be the reason: same lacklustre and unimaginative approach that both overwrites base game stuff preventing anyone wishing to complete those while this dumb gold pursuit/wall is ongoing (apparently for another month for the gp anyway!) while maximising the FOMO by the convenient inconvenient oversight of forgetting to enable solstice related overwrites for the Witches Event, in this case 'reapers' (replacing sweepers, traditionally a quick goto for fast event tickets that's essentially gone) for all players. I wonder if the public dungeon replacement bosses are the same?

Unless it's just broken - other than the design paucity implicit in bludgeoning over existing content, that is.

Wish I had not renewed my sub/sunk cost fallacy...

The item text on the Dremora Golden PS says "PD or sweeper ... once per day". So if you'd taken down a PD boss before hitting the sweeper/reaper, you'd only have a chance at a purple instead.

My mistake. My partner reminded me that is was an old school sweeper, not a reaper that we got the skull for. And it has been the only old school sweeper we've seen. We've gotten NO skulls for reapers. I'm sorry about that. My bad.

I'm sorry but what is a sweeper? I know about the soul reapers, are the sweepers the thing that these replace? Just the appearance of a few deadra that you kill like a random encounter?

My mistake. My partner reminded me that is was an old school sweeper, not a reaper that we got the skull for. And it has been the only old school sweeper we've seen. We've gotten NO skulls for reapers. I'm sorry about that. My bad.

Soul Reapers spawn regularly in Alik'r near the Lesser Circle/Myrkwasa Dolmen areas.

Just ride around and you'll sure to stumble across them.
