Is the live stream about the writhing wall event not supposed to be live now?

They tend to be late for streams for some reason.

I like that they're making a stream to give an overview of the event, that's cosy and helpful.
But no drops, what a shame

Well, it was a short stream-- just slightly over half an hour long-- and it's possible that a lot of people didn't tune in until well after the stream had started (as was the case with me), so there likely would have been a lot of grumbling if people tuned in late and the stream ended before they could watch long enough to earn the drops. So, from that perspective perhaps it was actually better that there were no drops for this particular stream.

Good point, although it used to take only 15 minutes to earn crates a few years ago (I think). I am not sure how it works, but they could have set the timer for 10 minutes.

I was watching the VOD to see what I'd missed at the beginning, and Gina actually commented on the lack of drops, giving pretty much the same reason I'd suggested-- the fact that it was going to be a short stream, and that they wouldn't want to end the steam before viewers had earned the drop. IIRC, she said something about a minimum amount of viewing time that Twitch requires for earning a drop-- presumably 15 minutes, although I don't think she mentioned a specific number. Also, the VOD is about 35 minutes long, but the stream didn't start right away, and I think the actual stream was only about 30 minutes long. That would be enough time to earn a 15-minute drop, but there are always people who tune in late, then have to refresh their connection to get the drop to start progressing, and get upset if the stream ends while their drop is at 98% completion.
